Company Meetings

2. When two or more than two persons get
together at one place to discuss any common
issue ,it is called Meeting.
Meeting of the Shareholders or of the
directors or the debenture holder ,are called
meeting of a company.
4. The first meeting of shareholder of a public company .
The Meeting should be held within a period not less than
one month or more than six months from the date at
which the company is entitled to commence business.
5. The purpose of AGM is to give full information to
members of progress made by company during the
year.
It must be held within eighteen months from the
date of its incorporation .The gap between one
meeting and the next should not be more than
fifteen months.
6. If necessary of the company this type of
meeting can be held on any time .The director
or some shareholders can invite this meeting
one tenth of the shareholders may give the
requisition to the board of directors to arrange
this type of meeting.
7. Meeting should be called by proper authority

8. Ordinary resolution-when the votes cast in
favour of it. or passed by a simple majority of
shareholders.
Special resolution-it requires the support of
three-fourth majority of shareholders present
and entitled to vote at a meeting.

proceedings of its general meeting and the
meeting of its board of directors .
