by Jerry Baldwin, Gordon Bowker, and Zev Siegl,In 1971 they opened a small

chose a name for the store from literature: Starbuck was the name of the
captain's chief mate from the novel Moby Dick. And the first logo was a
booed engraving from the 16 th century - a naked two-tailed siren. This is
