4. Creating a business often involves a bit of forecasting.
Especially in the beginning stages of a startup, inspiring your
team to see the vision of the successes to come is vital. Make
your team feel invested in the accomplishments of the
company. Whether everyone owns a piece of equity, or you
operate on a bonus system, generating enthusiasm for the
hard work you are all putting in is so important.
Marissa Mayer, Google
5. The key to delegation is identifying the strengths of your
team, and capitalizing on them. Find out what each team
member enjoys doing most. Chances are if they find that task
more enjoyable, they will likely put more thought and effort
behind it. This will not only prove to your team that you trust
and believe in them, but will also free up your time to focus
on the higher level tasks, that should not be delegated. It’s a
fine balance, but one that will have a huge impact on the
productivity of your business.
6. Good leaders are tolerant of ambiguity and remain calm,
composed and steadfast to the main purpose. Storms,
emotions, and crises come and go and a good leader takes
these as part of the journey and keeps a cool head.
Nelson Mendila
7. Extraordinary leaders take responsibility for everyone's
performance, including their own. They follow up on all
outstanding issues, check in on employees, and monitor the
effectiveness of company policies and procedures. When
things are going well, they praise. When problems arise, they
identify them quickly, seek solutions, and get things back on
track.
8. They accept the consequences both good and bad for their
decisions and leadership, even if it means going down with
the ship. They never pass the buck.
9. Assertiveness is not the same as aggressiveness. Rather, it
is the ability to clearly state what one expects so that there
will be no misunderstandings. A leader must be assertive to
get the desired results. Along with assertiveness comes the
responsibility to clearly understand what followers expect
from their leader
10. There is a difference between management and employees,
bosses and workers. Leaders understand the nature of this
difference and accept it; it informs their image, their actions,
and their communication. They conduct themselves in a way
that sets them apart from their employees--not in a manner
that suggests they are better than others, but in a way that
permits them to retain an objective perspective on everything
that's going on in their organization.
Sir Henry Clinton
11. Make sure you do your fair share and meet commitments.
Be consistent by delivering a good performance all the time,
not just some of the time.
12. The strongest, most effective leaders I've met care not just
about the business, but about the people in it and the people
impacted by it. Plus, they show they care through their words
and actions, even proving how they care for themselves and
their family by taking unplugged vacations and continuing
their own professional development. Care shouldn't be a
four-letter word in our workplace today -- and the best
leaders know it.
13. In today's work environment, people are working very long
hours and they need to take some time to celebrate their
successes in order to recharge their batteries. Those leaders
who fail to do this create burnout environment overtime.
14. A good leader has an exemplary character. It is of utmost
importance that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. A
leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with
honestly and integrity. A good leader “walks the talk” and in
doing so earns the right to have responsibility for others.
True authority is born from respect for the good character
and trustworthiness of the person who leads.
15. The only way you can get confidence is by becoming really,
really clear about who you are and what is most important to
you. New leaders fail when they try to become all things to all
people, or try to do too much out of their area of excellence.
Clarity helps you say "yes" to the right things -- and "no" to
others.
Thomos Jafferson
16. Too many leaders these days manage with the balance
sheet, often times at the expense of their employees and
long-term customer relationships. Talented people want to
work for leaders and organizations that truly care about their
employees and the communities in which they operate.
Mikhail Gorbachev
17. 1. Work with others and act together to accomplish a job. Respond to requests for
assistance and take the initiative to offer help.
2. Your ability to get everyone working and pulling together is essential to your
success. Leadership is the ability to get people to work for you because they want to.
3. Gain the cooperation of others by making a commitment to get along well with
each key person every single day. You always have a choice when it comes to a task:
You can do it yourself, or you can get someone else to do it for you. Which is it going
to be
4. The 80/20 rule applies here. Twenty percent of your people contribute 80
percent of your results. Your ability to select these people and then to work well with
them on a daily basis is essential to the smooth functioning of the organization.
Changhis Khan
18. Great leaders create opportunities for people to learn, grow,
or even move on. They treat people as an end in themselves,
not merely as a means to an end, making sure that everyone
has the ability to thrive both within and outside of the
organization.
Quote
"Leadership is the ability to establish standards and
manage a creative climate where people are self-motivated
toward the mastery of long term constructive goals, in a
participatory environment of mutual respect, compatible with
personal values.“
Hochi Minh
19. A good leader is committed to excellence. Second best does not
lead to success. The good leader not only maintains high
standards, but also is proactive in raising the bar in order to
achieve excellence in all areas.
20. It does little good to have a strong mission, vision, and goals--
and even a solid budget--if the executive cannot easily and
effectively convey his ideas to the stakeholders inside and
outside of the organization. He must regularly be in touch with
key individuals, by email, v-mail, meetings, or other forms of
correspondence. Of course, the best way to ensure other people
receive and understand the message is with face-to-face
interactions.
7 C’s Of Communication
1. Clear
2. Concise
3. Concrete
4. Correct
5. Coherent
6. Complete
7. Courteous
Adolf Hitler
21. A good leader is confident. In order to lead and set
direction a leader needs to appear confident as a person and
in the leadership role. Such a person inspires confidence in
others and draws out the trust and best efforts of the team to
complete the task well. A leader who conveys confidence
towards the proposed objective inspires the best effort from
team members.
Theodore Roosevelt
22. An effective leader has the ability to stand back and see what
is happening within the group, assure that each member is
heard, and not allow anyone to feel alienated or insecure
because of another’s ego or ambition
1. Create and maintain a bond, even with your ‘adversary’
2. Establish a dialogue and negotiate
3. “Put the fi sh on the table”
4. Understand what causes confl ict
5. Use the law of reciprocity
6. Build a positive relationship
Winston Churchill
23. 1) Compete or Fight
This is the classic win/lose situation, where the strength
andpower of one person wins the conflict. It has its place,
but anyone using it needs to be aware that it will create a
loser and if that loser has no outlet for expressing their
concerns, then it will lead to bad feeling.
2) Collaboration
This is the ideal outcome: a win/win situation. However, it
requires input of time from those involved to work
through the difficulties, and find a way to solve the
problem that is agreeable to all.
Susan b Anthony Fight
Aung San Suu Kyi
24. 3) Compromise or Negotiation
This is likely to result in a better result than win/lose, but it’s not quite
win/win. Both parties give up something, in favour of an agreed mid-
point solution. It takes less time than collaboration, but is likely to result
in less commitment to the outcome.
4) Denial or Avoidance
This is where everyone pretends there is no problem. It’s helpful if those in
conflict need time to ‘cool down’ before any discussion or if the conflict
is unimportant, but cannot be used if the conflict won’t just die down. It
will create a lose/lose situation, since there will still be bad feeling, but
no clearing the air through discussion, and results, in Transactional
Analysis terms, in ‘I’m not OK, you’re not OK’.
Timur Compromise
Dismond Tuto Denial
25. 5.Smoothing Over the Problem
On the surface, harmony is maintained, but underneath,
there is still conflict. It’s similar to the situation above,
except that one person is probably OK with this
smoothing, while the other remains in conflict, creating a
win/lose situation again. It can work where preserving a
relationship is more important than dealing with the
conflict right now, but is not useful if others feel the need
to deal with the situation.
Philip II
26. A strong vision and the willingness to see it through is one of
the most important characterizes of leadership. The leader
who believes in the mission and works toward it will be an
inspiration and a resource to their followers
Conviction often becomes central and transformative to you
personally. This is what make you an evangelist and drives
you to lead and attract others to discover what has convicted
you–making you a leader.
Abraham Lincoln
27. Critical thinking skills allow leaders to ask the right
questions, select relevant data, weigh conflicting information,
and determine the right course to follow.
George Washington
28. Some decisions will not always be so clear-cut. You may be forced at
times to deviate from your set course and make an on the fly
decision. This is where your creativity will prove to be vital. It is
during these critical situations that your team will look to you for
guidance and you may be forced to make a quick decision. As a
leader, its important to learn to think outside the box and to choose
which of two bad choices is the best option
29. Consistent : Confidence and respect cannot be attained without your
leadership being consistent. People must have confidence that their opinions
and thoughts will be heard and taken into consideration.
Conscientiousness : Conscientiousness is a measure of how organized,
thoughtful and forward-thinking an individual is. Good leaders are highly
organized, both individually and when it pertains to their teams; they
sympathize with their employees and provide thoughtful feedback and
support; and they have both short-term and long-term goals for the team
that drive the team’s everyday projects.
Bill Gates
30. Good leaders are always learning and implementing those
learnings into the betterment of the organization. That could
be through reading, conferences, web-based learnings, or
through other leaders, but also through people who report to
the leader.
MARGRAT THATURE
31. You must be seen by your advisors, stakeholders, employees,
and the public as being an expert in your field or an expert in
leadership. Unless your constituents see you as highly
credentialed--either by academic degree or with specialized
experience--and capable of leading your company to
success, it will be more difficult for you to be as respected,
admired, or followed
Rosalind Brewer CEO and President, Sam's
ClubCompanyWal-Mart Stores
32. The quality of courage means that you are willing to take
risks in the achievement of your goals with no assurance of
success. Because there is no certainty in life or business,
every commitment you make and every action you take
entails a risk of some kind. Among the seven leadership
qualities, courage is the most identifiable outward trait.
Quote
“Courage is rightly considered the foremost of the virtues,
for upon it, all others depend.” (Winston Churchill)
Safra Catz CEO Oracle
33. All leaders must make tough decisions It goes with the job. They understand that in
certain situations, difficult and timely decisions must be made in the best interests of
the entire organization, decisions that require a firmness, authority, and finality that will
not please everyone. Extraordinary leaders don't hesitate in such situations. They also
know when not to act unilaterally but instead foster collaborative decision-making.
The Wrong Action at the Wrong Time Leads to Disaster – If you take the wrong action
at the wrong time, your people suffer and so will your leadership.
The Right Action at the Wrong Time Brings Resistance – Having a vision for the right
direction and knowing how to get there is not enough. If you take the right action but do
it at the wrong time, you may still be unsuccessful because the people you lead can
become resistant. Good leadership timing requires many things.
Sheryl Sandberg CCO Face book
34. Dedication means spending whatever time or energy is
necessary to accomplish the task at hand. A leader inspires
dedication by example, doing whatever it takes to complete
the next step toward the vision. By setting an excellent
example, leaders can show followers that there are no nine-
to-five jobs on the team, only opportunities to achieve
something great.
Strategies
1.Impliment new strategies
2.Know the target
3.Keep balance
4.Focus on work
Ellen Kullman CEO DUO Pont
35. Having the vision to break out of the norm and aim for
great things --then the wherewithal to set the steps
necessary to get there-- is an essential characteristic of good
leadership. By seeing what can be and managing the goals on
how to get there, a good leader can create impressive change.
Indra Nooyi CEO Pepsi Co
36. Extraordinary leaders praise in public and address
problems in private.a genuine concern The best leaders guide
employees through challenges, always on the lookout for
solutions to foster the long-term success of the organization.
Rather than making things personal when they encounter
problems, or assigning blame to individuals, leaders look for
constructive solutions and focus on moving forward.
Mary Barra CEO General Motors
37. True leaders make their associates feel emboldened and
powerful, not diminished and powerless .
Business leaders complain that their technology experts
“don’t understand our challenges.” In turn, those experts
complain that the business leaders “can’t tell me what they
need.” It’s a common problem that empoweringLEADERS
helps you resolve. What’s at the heart of this issue?
Communication. Both sides want to understand, but it can be
like they are speaking different languages.
Dilma Rousseff Brazil
38. Great business leaders are able to get all members of their
teams engaged. They do this by offering them challenge,
seeking their ideas and contributions and providing them
with recognition for their contributions.
More than simply "satisfaction," employee engagement is a
positive emotional connection to the work they do and a
"thinking connection" to the belief in the goals, purpose and
mission of that work. Employees want to feel proud, feel
enjoyment, feel support, but more than that, they want to
believe that their work matters, that they contribute, and that
it resonates their values.
39. 1. "I will tell you and show you how you and your work matters“
2. "I will enable you be more effective in your job
3. "I will encourage you to be innovative
4. "I will encourage your growth in your job“
5. "I will be a leader you want to support and willingly follow“
Jenny Lee Managing Partener , GGV Capital
40. A good leader is enthusiastic about their work or cause and
also about their role as leader. People will respond more
openly to a person of passion and dedication. Leaders need
to be able to be a source of inspiration, and be a motivator
towards the required action or cause. Although the
responsibilities and roles of a leader may be different, the
leader needs to be seen to be part of the team working
towards the goal. This kind of leader will not be afraid to roll
up their sleeves and get dirty.
Dalia Grybauskaite, Lithuania
41. Evaluation of events and programs is essential for an
organization/group to improve and progress. An exceptional
leader will constantly evaluate and change programs and
policies that are not working.
Taraja Halonen Finland
42. Fairness means dealing with others consistently and justly.
A leader must check all the facts and hear everyone out
before passing judgment. He or she must avoid leaping to
conclusions based on incomplete evidence. When people feel
they that are being treated fairly, they reward a leader with
loyalty and dedication.
Laura Chinchilla Costrica
43. Flexible : How do you handle yourself in unexpected or
uncomfortable situations? An effective leader will adapt to
new surroundings and situations, doing his/her best to
adjust.
Always imagine you are speaking to yourself :Business can
be tough and there are times when difficult truths need to be
spoken. But when you do so, imagine yourself looking in a
mirror and think about how you would like to be spoken to
Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Argentina
44. A good leader as well as keeping the main goal in focus is able to
think analytically. Not only does a good leader view a situation as a
whole, but is able to break it down into sub parts for closer
inspection. Not only is the goal in view but a good leader can break
it down into manageable steps and make progress towards it.
Quote
“The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to
where they have not been”
Julia Gillard Australia PM
45. Genuine. You need to be clear on what your values are and
must be consistent in applying them. As part of that, you
need to have the courage to hold true to them. You must not
lose sight of reality. Lost values may be one of the biggest
causes of downfalls.
Quote
“No institution can possibly survive if it needs geniuses or
supermen to manage it. It must be organized in such a way as
to be able to get along under a leadership composed of
average human beings”
SalmanAl Saud Saudi Arabia
46. Leadership must be based on goodwill. Goodwill does not
mean posturing and, least of all, pandering to the mob. It
means obvious and wholehearted commitment to helping
followers. We are tired of leaders we fear, tired of leaders we
love, and of tired of leaders who let us take liberties with
them. What we need for leaders are men of the heart who are
so helpful that they, in effect, do away with the need of their
jobs. But leaders like that are never out of a job, never out of
followers. Strange as it sounds, great leaders gain authority
by giving it away.
Matteo Renzi Italy
47. Honesty : Strong leaders treat people how they want to be
treated. They are extremely ethical and believe that honesty,
effort, and reliability form the foundation of success. They
embody these values so overtly that no employee doubts
their integrity for a minute. They share information openly
and avoid spin control.
Tell the truth:Telling the truth means never having to
remember what you say. People have a sixth sense and know
whom they can trust
David Cameron UK
48. Humor :Although not a requirement, a sense of humor goes a long way in
leadership. It helps create a positive work environment and enhances the
feeling of camaraderie. Warren Buffett, for example, once said, “I buy
expensive suits. They just look cheap on me.” Your unique personality and
sense of humor shows your employees that you are more than a leader, and
that you aren’t a machine, which encourages them to feel comfortable
around you.
Be passionate and have fun:There are far too many business leaders who go
around looking as though they are strapped in a straightjacket and sucking
on lemons. We all thrive when we are having fun. It’s our natural state of
being. German Chanceller Angela Merkel
49. Leaders with humility recognize that they are no better or
worse than other members of the team. A humble leader is
not self-effacing but rather tries to elevate everyone. Leaders
with humility also understand that their status does not make
them a god. Mahatma Gandhi is a role model for Indian
leaders, and he pursued a "follower-centric" leadership role.
Jacob Zuma South Africa
50. A leader should work to be the motivator, an initiator.
He/she must be a key element in the planning and
implementing of new ideas, programs, policies, events, etc.
Quote
“If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall in the ditch.“
Park Geun hye South Korea
51. When leading a team through uncharted waters, there is no
roadmap on what to do. Everything is uncertain, and the
higher the risk, the higher the pressure. That is where your
natural intuition has to kick in. Guiding your team through
the process of your day-to-day tasks can be honed down to a
science. But when something unexpected occurs, or you are
thrown into a new scenario, your team will look to you for
guidance.
Ahmet Davutoga Turkey
52. Leadership is the art of influencing others. It differs from
giving a simple order or managing in that it shapes the
longer-term attitudes and behavior of individuals and
groups. Effective leaders stir an intangible but very real
desire inside people. That drive can be reflected in
extraordinary courage, selfless sacrifice and commitment.
Quote
“The key to successful leadership today is influence, not
authority”
Donald Tusk European Union
53. 1. Leadership comes from integrity - that you do whatever you ask others to do. I
think there are non-obvious ways to lead. Just by providing a good example as a
parent, a friend, a neighbor makes it possible for other people to see better ways to do
things. Leadership does not need to be a dramatic, fist in the air and trumpets blaring,
activity.
2. In every strategic planning session that I have conducted for large and small
corporations, the first value that all the gathered executives agree upon for their
company is integrity. They all agree on the importance of complete honesty in
everything they do, both internally and externally.
3. The core of integrity is truthfulness. Integrity requires that you always tell the truth, to
all people, in every situation. Truthfulness is the foundation quality of the trust that is
necessary for the success of any business.
54. Everyone in an organization should be held to common
standards, with rules and procedures that are clear, firm, fair,
and consistent.
Francois Hollande France
55. Going from individual contributor to supervisor is only the
first of many transitions along the leadership pipeline. You
need to understand the business model, how it applies to
your current position, what you need to do to provide the
greatest value, and how to leverage your strengths at this
level. This requires building competencies and focusing on
the right things. No one ever tells you that there are many
levels and many adjustments you need to make along the
way.
Marissa Mayer CEO Yahoo
56. Four rules of leadership in a free legislative body:
First, no matter how hard-fought the issue, never get
personal. Don't say or do anything that may come back to
haunt you on another issue, another day....
Second, do your homework. You can't lead without knowing
what you're talking about....
Third, the American legislative process is one of give and
take. Use your power as a leader to persuade, not
intimidate....
Fourth, be considerate of the needs of your colleagues, even
if they're at the bottom of the totem pole.
57. Part of awareness is don't expect people to change. If you
think you can change someone, think again. This doesn't
mean you can't help them grow and develop. But don't expect
to change anyone (even yourself) behaviorally. We are who we
are. Your job as a leader is to understand each person's
strengths and place them in positions where they can flourish
and grow. If you are good at that, you have a huge part of the
equation for success.
59. Business acumen, political savvy, a deep understanding of
social issues, knowledge - these are all ways to describe
intelligence. Effective leaders have a good understanding of
what needs to get done, and how to go about changing
things.
Rick Rosner is alleged to have an IQ of 192.
60. Loyalty – When leaders stick with the team until the job is
done and look out for their followers best interests even
when it hurts them personally, followers will in turn learn to
respect them.
61. Magnanimity means giving credit where it is due. A
magnanimous leader ensures that credit for successes is
spread as widely as possible throughout the company.
Conversely, a good leader takes personal responsibility for
failures. This sort of reverse magnanimity helps other people
feel good about themselves and draws the team closer
together. To spread the fame and take the blame is a
hallmark of effective leadership
62. Leaders know what their mission is. They know why the
organization exists. A superior leader has a well thought out
(often written) mission describing the purpose of the
organization. That purpose need not be esoteric or abstract,
but rather descriptive, clear and understandable. Every
employee should be able to identify with the mission and
strive to achieve it
63. Even a leadership team can not do it all. You will likely have
to work with staff and volunteers to undertake big projects.
Community leadership is part education, part inspiration, part
motivation and part mobilization
64. Openness means being able to listen to new ideas, even if
they do not conform to the usual way of thinking. Good
leaders are able to suspend judgment while listening to
others' ideas, as well as accept new ways of doing things that
someone else thought of. Openness builds mutual respect
and trust between leaders and followers, and it also keeps the
team well supplied with new ideas that can further its vision.
65. The very best leaders are source of positive energy. They
communicate easily. They are intrinsically helpful and
genuinely concerned for other people’s welfare. They always
seem to have a solution and always know what to say to
inspire and reassure. They avoid personal criticism and
pessimistic thinking, and look for ways to gain consensus and
get people to work together efficiently and effectively as a
team.
66. Whatever it is, you must have passion for what you're
doing. Live, breathe, eat and sleep your mission
Laura Chinchilla
67. You want to keep your team motivated towards the continued success
of the company, and keep the energy levels up. Whether that means
providing snacks, coffee, relationship advice, or even just an
occasional beer in the office, remember that everyone on your team
is a person. Keep the office mood a fine balance between
productivity and playfulness.
68. This is about getting people to take responsibility for their
physical space and surroundings. This includes natural areas,
structures and spaces. Stewardship means working together
to protect, preserve and take care of your community. This
involves renewing, repairing, rebuilding and constantly
reviewing your physical community to ensure that it is
healthy, strong and well-maintained
69. The exceptional leader is always thinking three steps ahead. Working to
master his/her own environment with the goal of avoiding problems before
they arise.
Know Your Audience – When you work with individuals, knowing your
audience means learning people’s names, finding out their histories, asking
about their dreams. When you communicate to an audience, you learn about
the organization and its goals. You want to speak about what they care
about.
Go to Where They Are – Remove as many barriers to communication as
possible. Try to be attuned to their culture, background, education, and so
on. Adapt to others; don’t expect them to adapt to me
Rachel Carson
71. Treating others with respect will ultimately earn respect.
Focus on Them, Not Yourself – Focus on others, not
yourself. That is the number one problem of inexperienced
speakers and ineffective leaders
Believe in Them – It’s one thing to communicate to people
because you believe you have something of value to say. It’s
another to communicate with people because you believe
they have value. People’s opinions of us have less to do with
what they see in us than with what we can help them see in
themselves.
Give Them Hope – French general Napoleon Bonaparte said,
“Leaders are dealers in hope.” When you give people hope,
you give them a future.
Benjamin Franklin
72. Utilize the resources available to you. If you don't know the
answer to something find out by asking questions. A leader
must create access to information.
73. Rewarding : An exceptional leader will recognize the efforts
of others and reinforce those actions. We all enjoy being
recognized for our actions.
Recognise the sacredness of the earth :Do not needlessly
use the resources of the earth for by doing so we destroy the
very basis of our life
74. That’s where your sense of humor will finally pay off.
Encourage your team to laugh at the mistakes instead of
crying. If you are constantly learning to find the humor in the
struggles, your work environment will become a happy and
healthy space, where your employees look forward to working
in, rather than dreading it.
75. Self-awareness. You need to be clear on what your strengths are and what
complementary strengths you need from others. This includes understanding
others and learning how best to utilize their strengths. Many unsophisticated
leaders think everyone should be like them; that too can cause their
downfall. They surround themselves with people like them. "Group think" can
blindside them and cause failure.
Self-assessment: Effective leaders periodically take stock of their personal
strengths and shortcomings. They ask: “What do I like to do? What am I really
good at?” “What are my areas of weakness, and what do I dislike doing?”
Walt Disney
76. Self Regulation :The ability to control one's own emotions, counterproductive
impulses, and moods. Self regulation is the leadership quality of remaining
in control of emotions
Sharp perception: Do you know how people really perceive you? Effective
leaders do. They have an easy level of honest communication with their
teams and their peers, and a thorough understanding of how they are
perceived
Tell the truth :Telling the truth means never having to remember what you
say. People have a sixth sense and know whom they can trust.
Be passionate and have fun:There are far too many business leaders who
go around looking as though they are strapped in a straightjacket and
sucking on lemons. We all thrive when we are having fun. It’s our natural
state of being.
77. Social Skills: The ability to manage relationships and
networking. "Social skills" is used to describe a leader's
ability to get along with others in the organization.
Responsive to the group’s needs: Being perceptive can also
help a leader be more effective in knowing the needs of the
team. Some teams value trust over creativity; others prefer a
clear communicator to a great organizer. Building a strong
team is easier when you know the values and goals of each
individual, as well as what they need from you as their leader.
78. Team players get problems out in the open for discussion
and then collaborate with others to find solutions and form
action plans
Quote
"One of the tests of leadership is the ability to recognize a
problem before it becomes an emergency."
79. 1. Understand the organization's vision
2. Develop the strategic plan
3. Develop values and principles
4. Align departmental goals to organizational
strategies
5. Develop and implement strategic change
management
6. Implement Total Performance Management™
7. Measure performance against competencies
8. Develop management's leadership skills
9. Coach leaders to optimize performance
80. 1. They lead others into their own encounters with God
2. They lead others to discover their own purpose and identity
3. They leads other into transformation
4. They impact their atmosphere
5. They help people see old things in a new way
6. They gain a following because of who they are .
81. Great leaders know that respect and integrity rests on the
fact that they will stand up for their people and push them
forward. The best leaders aren’t necessarily the ones in front.
82. Success – When leaders succeed in leading the team to
victory, then followers believe they can do it again. As a
result, followers follow them because they want to be part of
success in the future
1. Their life has purpose and meaning
2. They concentrate on positive thoughts.
3. They judge their wins and failures the same.
4. They prioritize what's important.
5. They don't compare themselves with others.
6. They cultivate meaningful relationships.
7. They invest in diversity.
8. They're constantly growing.
9. They do what they say they're going to do.
10. They believe in themselves.
83. You need to foster a positive environment that allows your
team to flourish. Also by aligning the reward and recognition
systems that best match your teams profile and deliver
results.
Start by helping others clarify and achieve goals by
identifying and removing any obstacles. Provide the resources
(time, money, people, information and equipment) needed to
complete the task. Don’t reprimand others who make
mistakes when taking a well-calculated risk. Instead, critique

work with the employee to correct the error.

say you are. If you are that person, you actually don’t need to say
that much.
