This document outlines pre-production details for a magazine layout, including style sheets, content, contingency planning, and health and safety considerations. Original photographs and articles will be created. Promotional images and a tear-away element on the cover are planned. Potential issues like weather, technology failures, or illness are addressed, along with solutions like remote access. Health risks from prolonged screen time like eye strain and fatigue will be mitigated with regular breaks.

5. Content
Content How You Could Get It
Pre-determined fonts Make sure to have the names saved so that they can be
downloaded onto every device I work on
photographs For my product the image on the front cover is going to be relating
to the article on my double page spread, meaning I can get both
images in one photoshoot
articles The stories have to be original so I will come up with an interview
with an artist about his new album
Cover lines These will be relating to articles other than the double page spread
that could interest an audience into reading the rest of the
magazine
Promotional images On the front cover I want to include a staple of music magazines of
this genre; free posters inside and will need to create and
photograph them in order to make sure all work is original
tear away At the bottom of the front cover I want to include some kind of tear
away that cuts of the main image as it is easier to write over and
place colourful images over.
6. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
Project is set to be done in early months of
the year, potential weather issues
Make sure that all work is saved on an easily
accessible memory stick so work can be done at
home.
memory stick failure Try to save work on more than one device so it
can be recovered if necessary.
Illness/ failure to attend college Make sure that all work is available to work
on from home.
Lack of internet access during the period of time where there is no
available internet access work on things that
don’t require it such as PowerPoints
computer breaking Make sure to have all files backed up on
external storage like a memory stick
running out of time stay late in the evenings, come in on days off
and work from home.
7. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
eye strain Take breaks every 90 minutes at a maximum to
ensure that your not spending too much time in
front of the screen
headaches If you feel like you have a headache coming,
stop working immediately, drink water and
come back to it after a break.
hand cramps from typing Make sure to do any hand/finger stretches if
you need to so that they don’t get too tense
during lessons
fatigue Make sure to continue drinking water and
getting enough food throughout the day and
plan an early night before the next day.
back pain Sitting at a desk for too long can cause back
pain so its important to have regular breaks and
do stretches
hearing Don’t listen to audio at too high a volume and
try to take breaks by doing something that only
requires typing
Editor's Notes
Explore colours and pixel art styles similar to what you want to produce. Discuss these elements in relation to why you chose them and where you may use them in your project. Go over as many pages as you need to.
Mock up of a potential design using the colours and sourced images. Alter this slide to make it appropriate for your planned product types. Use the content established in your style sheet to do this.
