1. THE MOON (al-
Qamar)
By the reality of The One To Serve/Allah The Beneficient The Ever Giving.
1. The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split.
Shiin-Qaf-Qaf = pass along the way, cross, open a way/passage/vent/channel, cut/split/divided/clave/ripped/tore.
2. Yet whenever they see a sign/miracle, they turn away, and say,
“Continuous magic.”
3. They denied, and followed their opinions, but everything has its time.
4. And there came to them news containing a deterrent.
5. Profound wisdom—but warnings are of no avail.
6. So turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller calls to something
terrible.
7. Their eyes humiliated, they will emerge from the graves, as if they were
swarming locusts.
8. Scrambling towards the Caller, those not convinced will say, “This is a
difficult Day.”
9. Before them the people of Noh were not convinced. They rejected The
One’s servant, and said, “Crazy,” and he was rebuked.
10. So he appealed to his Regulator, “I am overwhelmed, so help me.”

2. 11. So The One opened the floodgates of sky with water pouring down.
12. And The One made the earth burst with springs, and the waters met for
a purpose already destined.
13. And The One carried him on a craft of planks and nails.
14. Sailing before The One’s supervision; a reward for him who was rejected.
15. And The One left it as an indicator. Is there anyone who would take heed?
16. So how were My retribution and My warnings?
17. The One made the Quran easy to learn. Is there anyone who would learn?
18. Aad denied the truth. So how were My retribution and My warnings?
19. We unleashed upon them a screaming wind, on a day of unrelenting
misery.
20. Plucking the people away, as though they were trunks of uprooted palm-
trees.
21. So how were My retribution and My warnings?

3. 22. The One made the Quran easy to remember. Is there anyone who would
remember?
23. Thamood rejected the warnings.
24. They said, “Are we to follow one of us, a human being? We would go
astray, and end up in Hell.
25. Was the message given to him, out of all of us? In fact, He is a wicked
liar.”
26. They will know tomorrow who the wicked liar is.
27. We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and be
patient.
28. And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; each
share of drink made available.
29. But they called their friend, and he dared, and he hamstrunged.
30. So how were My retribution and My warnings?
31. The One sent against them a single Cry, and they became like crushed
hay.
32. The One made the Quran easy to understand. Is there anyone who would
understand?

4. 33. The people of Lot rejected the warnings.
34. The One unleashed upon them a shower of brimstones, except for the
family of Lot; The One rescued them at dawn.
35. A blessing from The One. Thus The One rewards the thankful.
36. He had warned them of The One’s onslaught, but they dismissed the
warning.
37. They even lusted for his guest, so The One obliterated their eyes. “So
taste My retribution and My warnings.”
38. Early morning brought upon them enduring retribution.
39. So taste My retribution and My warnings.
40. The One made the Quran easy to remembrance. Is there anyone who
would remember?
41. The warnings also came to the people of The Wicked.
42. They rejected The One’s evidences, all of them, so The One seized
them—the seizure of an Almighty Omnipotent.
43. Are you not convinced better than all those? Or do you have immunity
in the scriptures?

5. 44. Or do they say, “We are united, and we will be victorious”?
45. The multitude will be defeated, and they will turn their backs.
46. The Hour is their appointed time—the Hour is more disastrous, and most
bitter.
47. The wicked are in confusion and madness.
48. The Day when they are dragged upon their faces into the Fire: “Taste the
touch of Saqar.”
49. Everything The One created is precisely measured.
50. And The One’s command is but once, like the twinkling of an eye.
51. The One have destroyed your likes. Is there anyone who would ponder?
52. Everything they have done is in the Books.
53. Everything, small or large, is written down.
54. The honest will be amidst gardens and rivers.
55. In an assembly of virtue, in the presence of an Omnipotent Ruler.
