This document discusses a student project measuring heart rate using data loggers. It includes the names of 5 students, a definition and advantages/disadvantages of data loggers, and a story about two girls, Nana and Nini, measuring their heart rates before and after jogging. It also includes diagrams of heart rate sensor equipment and a table showing the girls' heart rates at various time points. The document poses questions about how activity affects heart rate and factors that influence heart rate differences between individuals.
3. Data Logger
3
an electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location
either with a built in instrument or sensor or via external instruments and
sensors. Increasingly, but not entirely, they are based on a digital
processor (or computer).
4. Advantages of data logger
4
Advantages
Measurements taken at the
right time
Data logging devices can be
sent to place that human
cannot easily get
Data can be collect
automatically
Data logger are easy to
use
5. 5
Disadvantages
Some data will be lost
or not recorded
Equipment of data
logger is expensive
The sensory must be
calibrated

7. Nana and Nini Story
7
Nana and Nini jogging together every evening. Nana
found that her heartbeat become fast after jogging.
Nana tell Nini about this and they decide to test again
tomorrow evening. They also curious about their heat
beat before the activity. So before start the activity, they
decide to check the heat beat which their teacher teach
before. After finish, they check again, they found that
their heart beat become faster but Nana and Nini heart
rate is different no matter before jogging or after
jogging. Why ?
13. Question
13
1. How can you describe the heart beat rate before and after doing activity?
2. Why did the heart beat rate increase after doing activity?
3. What is the reason heart beat rate comes to normal after a few minutes of
resting?
4. Why do different people have different heartbeat rates?
5. What are the other factors that affect your heart beat rate?
14. Answer
14
1. Before doing the activity, the heart beat rate is at normal state which is around 65 to 70
but after doing the activity, the heart beat rate increases drastically and slows down and
back to normal after a few minutes.
2. This is because the oxygen demand by the cells all around our body is high after doing
the activity so the heart needs to pump the oxygenated blood quickly to supply oxygen
to the cells.
3. This is a negative feedback mechanism in our body as the oxygen needed by the cells is
enough so the heart can pump the blood at the normal rate again.
4. There are a lot of reasons why people do have different heartbeat rates because of the
lifestyle, body weight, body height and body temperature.
5. The other factor that affects the heart beat rate is age, gender, type of the activity that is
being done and level of stress.
