2. RESEARCH
BLOGGER: Blogger has to be the most important part of
the research phase due to the fact that the website has
allowed me to post all of my planning, construction and
evaluation questions, it is also important as well as it is
quick and easy and simple to use.
YOUTUBE: I used youtube in order to post some videos
that I created that were related to media work. One
example is the codes and conventions video I did which
displayed a powerpoint presentation as well as a voice over.
PICTOCHART: I created a pictochart in order to prove the
research that took place involving audiences, it is a quick
and effective way of presenting research.
3. PLANNING
YOUTUBE: I used youtube in order to upload a character
development, I created an interview scenario with the
protagonist in order for me to understand my characters role
in more detail.
GOOGLE IMAGES- I used google images as it has allowed to
quickly search for film posters and magazine designs that I
could potentially use for my own project. It also allows me too
copy and paste them, therefore I can save my inspirations on
my blog.
POWERPOINT- I used powerpoint so that I could create an
audience profile, other Microsoft softwares are difficult for
creating profiles therefore I felt it would be necessary to
choose powerpoint as it is quick, simple and easy to use.
SOUND CLOUD- I used Soundcloud for inspiration for
potential soundtrack for my trailer, I searched this website as
I was hunting for some emotional and powerful music, I then
stumbled upon two powerful pieces of music that suited my
trailer perfectly.
MOBILE PHONE- I used a mobile phone despite being the
only person working on this project, I used my mobile phone
in order to book dates in my calendar for specific shoots and
many more.
4. CONSTRUCTION
DIGITAL CAMERA -I used a canon 750D to film the shots for my trailer, this is a
top quality camera, that has a very professional look to it, I purchased
this camera as I heard very good reviews about this camera, therefore I wanted
to invest in order for the overall trailer to be more appealing to the audience.
Youtube- I used youtube for a variety of different aspects of my film. The main
element of using youtube was the powerful music that can be heard in the trailer.
I downloaded it from youtube and then imported it into my project. The music I
picked is one of my favourite pieces of music and forms a very powerful and
inspirational feeling towards many people. Therefore I felt as though this matched
the genre of the film.
iMovie and Final Cut Pro- I used two editing softwares throughout
the editing development phase. I did this as I wanted to expand my knowledge
and learn iMovie and Final Cut Pro respectively. Final Cut Pro is a
more professional software therefore I decided to edit the 2nd half of my film in
final cut pro for a more professional outcome. I used slow motion for a large
proportion of the trailer, e.g.) the opening sequence of Wembley Stadium and the
protagonist playing football in order to create a sense of power of the beautiful
game and make the audience connect with the young player.
ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS- I used Adobe After effect in order to create my company
ident as well as my inter-titles as it is a fun and effective way of creating
appealing CGI. My inter titles have particles moving in the air as it will appeal
more to the audience, I have also given it a slightly blue background due to blue
being one of the main colours associated with my production.
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP- I created magazine covers and film posters in photoshop.
Photoshop is a quick and easy way of editing images and creating professional
looking images, posters, designs and many more. The editing process with
photoshop, involved merging layers, lowering the opacity of certain aspects of the
poster/magazine, I also used a black gradient which blends into the actual
background image, as I feel as though it flows really well.
AIRDROP- Using AirDrop, it allowed me to quickly convert one file to another
device within a matter of seconds this helped me with elements of editing such as
sending an image for my poster from an iPhone to a laptop efficiently.
5. EVALUATION
YOUTUBE- I used youtube to upload my trailer in
order to get recognition and to receive feedback
on the outcome of the film.
PREZI- I used a prezi presentation in order for
my second evaluation question to be completed, i
embedded it into my blog as its easy to view.
IMOVIE- I used iMovie in order to place
annotations into my film in order to have an
overall evaluative description of my film.
APPLE KEYNOTE- I used apple keynote in order
to present this presentation, this is an apple
version of Microsoft powerpoint and I feel as
though it is a lot easier to use.
SLIDESHARE- I used Slideshare as a way of
uploading my evaluation question on to the
internet and then embedding it so its is quick and
easy to view.
