1. UNIT 2 – THE CLIMATE Social Science 5th Level
• The weather can be sunny , cloudy or rainy, or hot or cold. This
depends on the atmospheric conditions.
Atmospheric conditions are the state of the atmosphere in a
specific place at a specific time.
Weather is determinated by these characteristics:
Temperature, precipitation, humidity, atmospheric pressure and wind.
We use meteorological instruments to collect information about
atmospheric conditions. We use this information to make weather
forescast and to study climate.
• Climate is the combination of the atmospheric conditions that occur
in an area over a long period of time.
Spain's climates
Spain has five different temperature climates
Atlantic, Mediterranean, Mediterranean-continental, mountain and
subtropical.
THE EARTH'S CLIMATE IS CHANGING
The Earth's temperature is rising and its climate is changing because
of human activity.
