Wehave decided to usean alleyway near our school to use as a location for our soap
operatrailer. Wehave donethis as this location is surroundedby housing. Furthermore
this alley is surrounded by treeswhich will allow usto obtain some low key lighting.
This alley is usefulas it allows us to shoot many differentcameraangles.
Wewere undecided on which alley to useas there are a few within the close vicinity of
our school. So wedecided on the oneclosest to our school as it is the widest, allowing a
lot of differentshot types to be easily shot.
The second location we decided on was a classroom insideour school St.Andrews
School. An enclosed yet safe place, this will contrast well with the ominousthemes
presentin our trailer such as murder and violence. This contrast of locations will allow
the audienceto see there are a range of differentelementswithin our Soap Opera. This
location allows us to obtain lowkey and high key lighting. Furthermore it will allow the
audienceto see how the characters in the trailer know each other.
Wehave decided to useAshtead Park as our third location as it is a good area to film
some partsof our trailer. It will allow us to take a range of camera shots and create a
tense atmosphere for the respective scenes such as the establishing scene where we
see the dead body.
For our finallocation wewill be usingEpsom Hospital. This allows usto create a
mysteriousatmospherewhen wesee the pregnantstudentleavingthe hospital.
Furthermore it willallow us to take a tracking shot through the hallways.

How will this be
resolved?
There are risks of pedestriansinterferingwith our scenes down the
alley so we will shoot when there are no people around and be
efficient when shooting so that we do not take lots of time redoing
scenes. Potential hazardsinside the school is having other students
makingnoise in the hallwayswhen we are shooting, so we will
resolvethis by shooting the respective scene when everoneis in
class so that no noise interferes.
There will be hazardsin the hospital such as doctors and patients
walkingpast so we will shoot the short scenes quickly and when
nooneis walking past.
