Marketing Plan Exercise Chapter 5
Depending on the business, if I had to choose between B2B and B2C, I would most likely
decide business-to-consumer. I would choose B2C because it gives myself the chance to truly
understand the consumer’s wants and needs. B2C also allows me to do what I love, marketing
and advertising. Pros of choosing B2C include better interaction, more efficient business
relationships, reduces customer service and sales support and reduces cost on business. The
main advantage to business-to-business is your loyal customers. Personally, my main concern
is that the customers may not agree with what I am selling. If this is the case, then my profit
margins and sales won’t be going up and I would be losing money, not making it. I would chose
to sell my product based on studies and analysis. If I’mtaking a wild guess, I would assume to
sell to places that are around parks, bodies of water, camping grounds and local bars. This is if I
were selling or marketing/advertising Leinenkugel Brewing Company.
I would enjoy working in the marketing and advertising business for the Leinenkugel
Brewing Company. One useful piece of information found on Leinenkugel’s Facebook page is
not on their website, was what they call “What’s your mix”. What’s your mix is a list of
different types of Leinenkugel beers. This could be used in an interview to tell the interviewer
which one is most popular or which mix I personally like the most. Another helpful piece of
information found on Twitter is that Leinenkugel interacts with some of their customers and
followers, which I believe is great for business!
The owners of Leinenkugel Brewing Company post, tweet, comment, etc. and they also
appear in the couple of commercials that they do have. In these commercials, the owners
speak about the product and inviting the consumer to “join us out here”. This is a very family
oriented business. There’s a few idea’s with my social media presence I would love to
incorporate if I had the great opportunity to be a part of the Leinenkugel’s marketing and
advertisement team. One would include to involve the owners and family more by taking
pictures and videos of the Leinenkugel family drinking their beer with others on vacation and
then post on social media. This would be showing customers that the Leinenkugel family
means it when they say “join us out here”. My idea’s, knowledge of social media, creative
ability to work with what I have, ability to work well under pressure and well with others and
the ambition to work with such a hobby of mine would be examples of the presence I would
bring to the table of social media, advertising, and marketing.
