PREFACE
This presentation is delivered to you for improving the knowledge about
INTERNET OF THINGS which is going to produce a revolution in the
field of network. I would like to convey our gratitude to our Principal,
Head of Dept., our beloved staffs (Computer Engineering.),my parents
and all our friends for encouraging me.
CONTENTS
• What is INTERNET OF
THINGS?
• History of INTERNET OF
THINGS.
• IOT takes off
• IOT components
• Cloud and IOT are separable

IOT WHAT AND WHY?
• The Internet of Things (IOT) is a system of interrelated many
things.
• It is ability to transfer data over a network.
• Today computers -- and, therefore, the internet -- are almost
wholly dependent on human beings for information.
• The problem is, people have limited time, attention and
accuracy.
HISTORY OF IOT
• The term Internet of Things is 16 years old.
• But the actual term “Internet of Things” was coined by Kevin
Ashton in 1999.
• The internet was the hottest new trend in 1999.
• It somehow made sense, he called his presentation “Internet of
Things”.
IOT TAKES OFF
• The concept of IoT started to gain some popularity in the
summer of 2010.
• The same year, the Chinese government announced.
• Europe’s biggest Internet conference LeWeb.
• In October of 2013, IDC published a report.
• In January 2014 Google announced to buy Nest for
$3.2bn.
WHAT MAKES UP IOT
• The Internet of Things also includes people – this is particularly
important in areas.
• IoT also needs IoT Platforms.
• The IoT platforms provide numerous functions.
• The components in an IoTenvironment should be tied together
by networks.
Working
• It is used to provide an ultra low power radio within the
2.4GHz band.
• It can wake up quickly.
• It is used to produce a radio.
• It makes perfect sense to share this information.
IOT Components
Physical Objects:
Sensors
Actuators
Virtual Objects
People
Services
Platforms
Networks
CLOUD & IOT ARE INSEPARABLE
• The Internet of things requires the cloud to work, and the cloud will
evolve to better serve IOT.
• More and more, people expect everything to be connected.
• They all communicate or will communicate with cloud servers.
• We’ll see a lot of growth in cloud-based services for devices Amazon
Web Services, Google, and Microsoft, plus.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN IOT
• Public transportation is reducing energy consumption.
• Traveling by public transportation uses less energy..
• M2M solution.
• Lots of buses are involved in the public transport; they run
on the scheduled time every day.
• The system has many problems that could be resolved by
implementing M2M solutions
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
BENEFITS
• RTC
• Enterprise Service Provider
• To encourage the passenger to
use public transport.
PROBLEMS
• Overloaded buses
• Less frequency of buses
• Breakdown of buses.
• Accidents
REQUIREMENTS
• GPS devices
• Wheel speed sensors
• Torque sensors
• Sensors measuring the health of the vehicle
BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENT:
?????????????
SOLUTIONS FOR SMART FARMING
• For farmers and growers, the Internet of Things has opened up
extremely productive ways to cultivate soil.
• The Kaa open-source IoT Platform .
IOT IN RAIN
????????????????????
PROJECTS BASED ON IOT
• ALARM CLOCK
• IOT based Smart Parking
• IOT based Noise pollution monitoring.
• IOT based Traffic Congestion and warning systems.
• IOT based Smart Lighting.
• IOT based home automation.
• IOT based Smart Roads Intelligent Highways.
MERITS
MERITS
• Public transportation
• Home automation
• Companies and industries.
• Smart farming.
• No need to create a memory.
• Smart parking.
CONCLUSION
• The INTERNET OF THINGS became a boon in future world,
because everything in this world has been connected and operated
or controlled from our mobile phone, tablet, laptop. I would like
to thank god to give this opportunity to present this paper
successfully.
