2. • We started our App project on 18 March 20.
• Our initial aim was to create an a free android app but
soon we realized that this won’t be possible with our
limited resources.
• COVID-19 can be transmitted through surfaces like
plastic, metals.
• Infected people can transmit the virus to their close
contacts or during any outdoor activity before the
infection symptoms appear.
Introduction
3. • People infected with the virus will keep transmitting it to
others unless they know they are infected.
• It is hard to keep track of people movement for 14 days.
• Government won’t announce all the information to the
public to avoid Chaos.
• Not all business will disinfect their shops everyday,
unless they are forced to do so.
The Problem
4. • An App that tracks ones outdoor exposure but keep
those tracks secure on the phone until ones declare they
are COVID-19 positive.
• You will receive notifications if there is an announced
COVID-19 positive within 30m from your current
position.
• You will receive a warning if you visited a place within
the last 14 days that a declared COVID-19 positive
happen to visit.
The solution
5. • From Governments:
-Singapore government uses bluetooth app to detect
close proximity to others to have the same app.
-Ireland is building an App for GPS tracking.
-US, China, Hong Kong and south korea and using
Telekom companies to trace people.
• From Companies:
-IBM added a tab to their “The weather channel app” to
inform their users about infections in their living areas.
- A Malaysian startup developed an app long ago called
D’scover app although it’s main function is keep track of
others locations like employee’s and family members
through geo fencing.
App Competitors
6. • Funding to cover the costs of google cloud, scalable
hosting, marketing and to scale the team.
• Technical: We won’t be able to release the app with the
important notification features at the beginning. We
have to tune our Database and servers to accommodate
thousand of users.
• We don’t know if the public will accept to compromise
their privacy to avoid the infection.
Current Challenges
7. • Each user will cost us around $1.50 / month.
• We aim to charge user $2.50 / month to use our
premium features (real time warning notifications) and
receive daily updates and news.
• We target 100k app user around the world within the
first 90 days.
Business Model
8. • There is a few functions that need to be implemented to
the app within the next 5 days before the app release.
• We will communicate with governments to support the
usage of our application.
• We will try to partner with disinfection companies and
other related businesses.
• We will release an App version for administration, stores
where they can trigger mass warning notifications upon
discovering a COVID positive case to drive people away
from the infested area.
• We will hire freelancers for improving the web admin
panel functionality and harden it’s security.
