xAPI Live - Why do I need something new? Day Hikes in xAPIRISC Inc
This presentation by Megan Torrance, President of Torrance Learning highlights short activities that can be used to leverage xAPI without breaking the bank. Torrance Learning's xAPI Cohorts groups teams of interested users to create xAPI projects that are shared to provide a starting point and foster discussion about xAPI and it's use for Learning & Performance Support.
This document provides an introduction to xAPI (Experience API) for instructional designers. It defines xAPI as a specification for sending, storing, and retrieving data about learning and performance experiences. The document outlines how xAPI can be used to learn more about the learning experience and performance, correlate learning with performance, and support performance in better ways. It then provides steps for getting started with xAPI, including selecting a project, authoring tools that can send xAPI data, learning record stores for receiving the data, and resources for learning more about xAPI.
The document discusses Sun certifications like the Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA) certification, what they involve, how to prepare and take the exams. It provides information on salary benefits of certification, resources to study, and discounts available through the Sun Academic Initiative program. It also presents sample exam questions and answers to help understand the type of questions on the SCJA exam.
The document outlines the phases of the Dream Society of Excellence (DSOE) internet project synchronization plan. Phase 1 involves a question and answer portion and active referrals. Phase 2 includes diagnostic exams for new members on mathematics from kindergarten to algebra and practice exercises. Phase 3 will begin uploading textbook answers. Phase 4 will upload DSOE course reviews including civil service, nursing licensure, and engineering reviews. The document also provides an incentive structure for referrals, with higher incentives provided for referrals in later generations.
iOSNeXT.ro - 10 reasons you'll love Swift - Paul ArdeleanuPaul Ardeleanu
Welcome to 2014, the year of the Swift! In this talk, Paul is going to take you through the 10 most interesting Swift topics, and convince you (if that's even needed) why Swift if the language to learn this year. We'll be using Playgrounds and even attempt to create a small app so get your laptops ready and follow along
Verizon Labs is home to one of the largest Scala-based functional programming teams in North America, and in this talk Timothy Perrett provides an insight into the work of his infrastructure engineering team, in driving adoption of pure-functional programming in a fortune 15 company: from language education and proliferation within the team, to the specific positives and negatives of purely functional programming, when applied at massive scale
This document summarizes evaluations from students who took a Word 2013 training course. It provides average ratings for each student across various categories related to the course, including the instructor, courseware, learning effectiveness, and environment. Ratings were on a scale of 1 to 10, with all students giving average ratings between 8.82 and 9.00 for each category. The summary also includes student comments praising the instructor and information about the students.

Until recently, using xAPI meant custom programming, close work with your LRS provider, and custom reporting tools. It just wasn't scalable for enterprise-wide adoption. Today, xAPI is ready for wider adoption. We'll talk about the state of xAPI adoption and what you'll need to get started. Major courseware development tools have varying degrees of basic conformance with xAPI and can send statements to an LRS. Several LRSs are commercially available to choose from, and LMS providers are adding an LRS to their suites. Conformance specifications are evolving and more tools that previously never used SCORM are adopting xAPI.
This document provides tips and tricks for passing the PMP and ACP exams. It discusses strategies for answering different types of exam questions, such as those with logical fallacies like "all of the above" or "none of the above." Mnemonic devices and practice tests are recommended for studying. The document also reviews important project management concepts like scope, schedule, cost and quality.

by Python & Computer science tutor in Malaysia
I built software solutions that are being used in the US, Germany, Brazil, Malaysia and Thailand.
I have co-founded a healthcare startup in KSA for remote health monitoring for the elderly & chronic patients that was backed by KACST in 2020 and one of our prototypes ranked among top 11 in KAUST Hajj challenge in 2021.
I developed a passion for working in startups.
Earlier, I worked for a European company from 2013 where I handled all their projects in kSA till 2018 on a remote setting where I was the only employee in KSA almost 80% of the time so I handled all kind of office and project activities (on-site supervision, design work coordination, sourcing suppliers and sub-contractors and negotiating partnership opportunities).
Outside the gulf region, I led projects in different fields like charity, agriculture, medical, engineering, environment and in IT projects where custom software development was the primary product and also in projects where software was only 30% of the final product. This gave me the expertise in managing and coordinating projects regardless of the field knowledge.
I dealt with suppliers in Dubai, Singapore, China, Japan, England, Finland, Italy, USA and Germany. I also created business plans, cash flow and maintained project budgets reports on medium sized projects.
I led projects for the US & German governments adhered to security restrictions, handled difficult personalities and delivered projects successfully on time and on budget.
And I supported sales directors to close multi-million project deals by dealing with all technical concerns for the client. I helped the management team to resolve conflicts with the client and strove to build good business connections.

A Study of Variable-Role-based Feature Enrichment in Neural Models of CodeAftab Hussain
Understanding variable roles in code has been found to be helpful by students
in learning programming -- could variable roles help deep neural models in
performing coding tasks? We do an exploratory study.
- These are slides of the talk given at InteNSE'23: The 1st International Workshop on Interpretability and Robustness in Neural Software Engineering, co-located with the 45th International Conference on Software Engineering, ICSE 2023, Melbourne Australia
Need for Speed: Removing speed bumps from your Symfony projects ⚡️Łukasz Chruściel
No one wants their application to drag like a car stuck in the slow lane! Yet it’s all too common to encounter bumpy, pothole-filled solutions that slow the speed of any application. Symfony apps are not an exception.
In this talk, I will take you for a spin around the performance racetrack. We’ll explore common pitfalls - those hidden potholes on your application that can cause unexpected slowdowns. Learn how to spot these performance bumps early, and more importantly, how to navigate around them to keep your application running at top speed.
We will focus in particular on tuning your engine at the application level, making the right adjustments to ensure that your system responds like a well-oiled, high-performance race car.

Hand Rolled Applicative User ValidationCode KataPhilip Schwarz
Could you use a simple piece of Scala validation code (granted, a very simplistic one too!) that you can rewrite, now and again, to refresh your basic understanding of Applicative operators <*>, <*, *>?
The goal is not to write perfect code showcasing validation, but rather, to provide a small, rough-and ready exercise to reinforce your muscle-memory.
Despite its grandiose-sounding title, this deck consists of just three slides showing the Scala 3 code to be rewritten whenever the details of the operators begin to fade away.
The code is my rough and ready translation of a Haskell user-validation program found in a book called Finding Success (and Failure) in Haskell - Fall in love with applicative functors.
