Overview
Ahmed has more than 12 years of business development, operations management, project management,
construction management, planning and sustainable project delivery on multi-billion dollars projects in
the middle-east, Africa, Asia and South America, developing strategies and Development Plans for
government and tier-1 clients in the hydrocarbons, power, infrastructure and mining sectors.
Ahmed has managed the regional operations in the Middle East for WorleyParsons, looking after
EcoNomics™, sustainable decision making and Advanced Decision Analysis, training existing
resources, helping WorleyParsons as well as its tier-1 clients to deliver better projects.
Ahmed has developed benchmark studies for Qatar Economic Zones on delivering a sustainable
Economic Zone, he also advised many governments and tier-1 clients on strategic decision making
through incorporating, monetizing all non-technical risks and opportunities in the decision making
process.

The Royal Commission is developing a mega Master Plan for the cities of Jubail and Yanbu; they have
awarded Advisian a project to evaluate the existing situation of the clusters, evaluate the performance of
the clusters. Conduct a benchmarking comparison with similar cities globally and in the region. Identify

the gaps and create a prioritisation plan for filling those gaps. This project is the cornerstone for
developing 2 of the major industrial cities in the Middle East.
EcoNomics™ Regional Operations Manager, MENAI │ WorleyParsons│ 2013-2014
Ahmed relocated to Middle East, Cairo to take the role of Regional Operations Manager of EcoNomics™
MENAI region. Ahmed’s role was to provide leadership and support to the MENAI business in the areas
of client engagement, project execution, team technical development, and business development of the
EcoNomics™ brand and processes.
Decision making advisor │ Marine Master Plan │ Aramco │ 2014
Aramco is developing a mega Master Plan for their eastern operations; they are looking into choosing
the most sustainable/profitable option to develop/enhance/upgrade their eastern marine operations.
It’s a huge portfolio management project encompassing multi-billion dollars decisions.
As decision support professionals, WorleyParsons have been commissioned to provide Support for
Aramco to take the most sustainable/profitable decision.
Study manager │ Economical Zone 3 QEZ3, Sustainability benchmarking study│ Manateq │ 2013
Qatar is developing 3 Economic Zones to the cutting edge Technology and Sustainability measures;
QEZ3 is the largest Economical Zone being developed in Qatar.
WorleyParsons have been commissioned by Qatar to develop the Master Plan for QEZ3, Ahmed was
responsible for developing a Sustainability benchmarking study highlighting the opportunities which
would rank QEZ3 as one of the most Sustainable Economic Zones and attract more foreign investments.
Study manager │ North Hap’y Conceptual Study (offshore deep water) │ GSPC │ 2013
The “North Hap’y” field is located 140km offshore from Port Said in Egypt, WorleyParsons was
commissioned to carry out a study to determine optimum development scenario for development of the
North Hap’y field based on iterating technical and commercial analysis of the different development
scenarios, which includes Cost Benefit Analysis, full Life Cycle Analysis for all options. This helped
GSPC to save both time and money by narrowing down the scope at a very early stage and be able to
take a more informed decision on how to proceed forward.
Study lead │ Khazzan Development Project – Sustainability statement│ BP │ 2012
BP is building its first development in Oman, it’s a Tight Gas development project, and with Native
population near the work site and this being BP’s 1st development in Oman this project has many
stakeholders which oppose many non-technical risks that could be of threatening nature to the project
and BP’s reputation in Oman. BP reached out for WorleyParsons to take care of some of these risks by
generating an “Environmental & Social Statement” through which BP can pro-actively communicate
with various stakeholders and mitigate some of the Environmental and Social risks. After the Framing
Session and the stakeholders mapping exercise BP realized that the scope needs to be bigger and that
writing the statement is a very important exercise, hence the scope changed to cover a full
“Sustainability Statement” addressing all the major stakeholders and non-technical risks.
EcoNomics™ lead │ GTL Country Benefit Analysis │ Confidential │ 2012
A confidential client is planning to build a Gas to liquid plant (GTL) in one of the former Soviet Union
countries; the plant will be producing liquid fuels for domestic use and exporting Naphtha.
Ahmed was the team leader, responsible for a team performing a full country Benefit Analysis for the
project compared to other conventional options. The study comprised quantifying and monetizing the
economics, social and environmental costs and benefits of the GTL project to the country compared

with other conventional options, examining the sensitivities of all externalities and their impact on the
NPV of the GTL project. As well as ensuring that all the present and planned facilities, infrastructure
and utilities, are identified and work in synergy with the identified development options.
EcoNomics™ lead │ ASKAF Iron Ore Project │ Xstrata │ 2012
Xstrata is planning to build a huge Iron Ore project in South West Africa. WorleParsons was contracted
to perform the concept selection.
Ahmed was leading the EcoNomics™ team performing an EcoNomics™ Assessment to help Xstrata
choose the most sustainable option for their project development.
EcoNomics™ lead │ SRAK Facility Benchmarking Study │ Aramco/Shell │ 2011
South Robe' Al Khaly (SRAK), a JV between Saudi-Aramco and Shell contracted WorleParsons to
perform a high level benchmarking study to help SRAK choose the most sustainable Process technology
option for Sulphur removal.
Ahmed was leading the EcoNomics™ team looking into the most sustainable option for Sulphur
removal taking into consideration all financial, environmental and social costs and benefits of the
project.
EcoNomics™ lead │ MLNG Facility EcoNomics™ Assessment │ Confidential │ 2011
A confidential client is evaluating locations for an onshore Mid-Scale Liquid Natural Gas (MLNG) site
on an island in South America in addition to offshore completions and gathering systems.
Ahmed was the study lead assessing the financial, environmental and social costs and benefits of the
MLNG development to the client, and including an EcoNomics™ Assessment to select the most
sustainable power production and refrigerant technology for the plant.
Another objective was to assess the financial, environmental and social costs and benefits of the MLNG
development to Tobago.
Lead analyst │ EcoNomics™ Assessment for Power Production Policies │ IFAS │ 2010
USAID-funded project to raise awareness of potential impacts of climate change on the Energy Sectors
of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, to understand the risks and vulnerabilities identify
possible adaptation options and assess the costs and benefits of adaptation measures.
WorleyParsons was contracted to perform an Economics™ assessment to strategize the future of power
production for these countries for the upcoming 40 years, covering the gap between supply and demand
with the most sustainable power production solutions.
Ahmed was a lead analyst on the team, gathering & analysing the data, structuring the rationale and the
concept based on which all the calculations and models will be set to decide on the best combination of
options to achieve a sustainable decision package for these countries.
Business Development Manager │ PDi Mediterranean LLC, Egypt │ 2007 - 2010
Ahmed joined PDi Mediterranean LLC in 2007 as the Business Development Manager; he was
responsible for overseeing the local and regional market demand, introducing PDi to the market in Egypt
and the region as one of the capable consultancy firms in the field of Energy & Resources.
He was responsible for making the business plan for PDi and seeing it through. Reporting progress to

Senior project engineer │ NWO-1 concept screening │ AOC │ 2009
AOC has made a commercial oil discovery by its first well, NWO-1, drilled and temporarily abandoned in
the south-east part of Northwest October Concession area in early September 2006 (“NWO-1 Discovery”).
The well location is approx. 30 Km west from Ras Budran Field and approx. 15 Km east from Ezz El
Orban shoreline in the Gulf of Suez. The discovered oils are 28° API and 32° API gravity from Thebes
limestone and Nukhul sandstone respectively. It is anticipated that water flood will be initiated during the
early stage of the development and that the wells will require the use of electric submersible pumps for
artificial lift after 5-6 years from initial production. Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) was observed in the fluid
from Thebes limestone
Ahmed was responsible for reviewing previous concept studies, CAPEX and OPEX, presenting and
studying all new available options, performing CAPEX and OPEX cost estimation for all options.
Senior facilities engineer │ North Idku development project │ RWE Dea │ 2008
The North Idku Development Lease Area with its gas and condensate accumulations lies in the
Mediterranean Sea approximately 30km East of Alexandria, Egypt, in Abu Qir Bay some 30km offshore
and in water depths ranging from 50 to 80 meters.
Ahmed was responsible for updating vendor lists for the project, set up document control tracking system
to follow up the detailed engineering documents being distributed to deferent parties for review,
managing the detailed engineering interface, mobilized to detailed engineering contractor office as the
interface engineer and representing the client, handling the detailed design conflicts and liaising with the
technical team in order to solve it in the most efficient way.
Senior project engineer │ Polvo offshore project │ Devon Energy │ 2007
A subsea development project offshore Brazil.
Ahmed was responsible for reviewing the pipe laying procedures, the modifications being done to the
laying vessel (originally was a pipe carrier), reviewing the special equipment list to be on-board the vessel,
participated in the project HAZID in Aberdeen.
Project manager │ Offshore Pipelines Rehabilitation Project │ BP │ 2007
A huge revamp project with an estimated budget of $250,000,000 replacing 15 offshore pipelines with
many topsides modifications and replacements.
Ahmed was responsible for managing the detailed engineering, procurement and construction for 15
pipelines on 3 phases; each phase contained 5 pipelines; the overall duration of the project is 4 years
Ahmed was responsible for managing the work from Enppi’s (Contractor) side, as well as managing the
interface between Enppi and sub-sea engineering subcontractor in the UK; coordinating and chairing
interface meetings in London, managing the subcontracts. Overseeing all project financials and reporting
progress to BP’s project steering committee.
Ahmed started as a project engineer on that project in 2005, then nominated by BP in 2006 as the Deputy
Project Manager then promoted as a Project Manager in 2007.
Mechanical completion engineer │ Simian/Sienna & Sapphire Development Projects │ BG │ 2004
Mobilized to site and assigned as the Mechanical Completion coordinator to manage the mechanical
completion activities and the tie-ins of the Simian/Sienna and Sapphire Onshore Development Projects
with the existing Scarab/Saffron onshore facilities during the shutdown window.
Ahmed was responsible for overall Mechanical Completion (MC) of the Project Systems, identifying
obstacles preventing MC targets being met and take appropriate actions to resolve them, sssisting the
project manager in developing plans / strategies in conjunction with the Construction Group to most
effectively achieve MC targets.

Project engineer │ Simian/Sienna & Sapphire Development Projects │ BG │ 2003
On Simian/Sienna & Sapphire Development Projects Ahmed started his carries as a project engineer
responsible for managing the interface between the Engineering head office and the construction site,
handling and coordinating the engineering issues related to the construction problems (Engineering
Clarification Memos and Request For Information memos) and closing it out with different technical
departments, responsible for checking the project Material Take Offs VS Purchase Orders on the MMS
(Material Management System), responsible for issuing and signing the Milestones completion and
Variation orders notifications and certificates with the related supporting evidential documents, and
issuing the related invoices accordingly.
Providing administration and supervision of contractors providing construction services; and of vendors
performing work, providing construction or commissioning services or supplying equipment or materials
for the project.

EcoNomics™ lead │ SRAK Facility Benchmarking Study │ Aramco/Shell │ 2011 South Robe' Al Khaly (SRAK), a JV between Saudi-Aramco and Shell contracted WorleParsons to perform a high level benchmarking study to help SRAK choose the most sustainable Process technology option for Sulphur removal. Ahmed was leading the EcoNomics™ team looking into the most sustainable option for Sulphur removal taking into consideration all financial, environmental and social costs and benefits of the project. EcoNomics™ lead │ MLNG Facility EcoNomics™ Assessment │ Confidential │ 2011 A confidential client is evaluating locations for an onshore Mid-Scale Liquid Natural Gas (MLNG) site on an island in South America in addition to offshore completions and gathering systems. Ahmed was the study lead assessing the financial, environmental and social costs and benefits of the MLNG development to the client, and including an EcoNomics™ Assessment to select the most sustainable power production and refrigerant technology for the plant. Another objective was to assess the financial, environmental and social costs and benefits of the MLNG development to Tobago. Lead analyst │ EcoNomics™ Assessment for Power Production Policies │ IFAS │ 2010 USAID-funded project to raise awareness of potential impacts of climate change on the Energy Sectors of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, to understand the risks and vulnerabilities identify possible adaptation options and assess the costs and benefits of adaptation measures. WorleyParsons was contracted to perform an Economics™ assessment to strategize the future of power production for these countries for the upcoming 40 years, covering the gap between supply and demand with the most sustainable power production solutions. Ahmed was a lead analyst on the team, gathering & analysing the data, structuring the rationale and the concept based on which all the calculations and models will be set to decide on the best combination of options to achieve a sustainable decision package for these countries. The well location is approx. 30 Km west from Ras Budran Field and approx. 15 Km east from Ezz El Orban shoreline in the Gulf of Suez. The discovered oils are 28° API and 32° API gravity from Thebes limestone and Nukhul sandstone respectively. It is anticipated that water flood will be initiated during the early stage of the development and that the wells will require the use of electric submersible pumps for artificial lift after 5-6 years from initial production. Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) was observed in the fluid from Thebes limestone Ahmed was responsible for reviewing previous concept studies, CAPEX and OPEX, presenting and studying all new available options, performing CAPEX and OPEX cost estimation for all options. Senior facilities engineer │ North Idku development project │ RWE Dea │ 2008 The North Idku Development Lease Area with its gas and condensate accumulations lies in the Mediterranean Sea approximately 30km East of Alexandria, Egypt, in Abu Qir Bay some 30km offshore and in water depths ranging from 50 to 80 meters. Ahmed was responsible for updating vendor lists for the project, set up document control tracking system to follow up the detailed engineering documents being distributed to deferent parties for review, managing the detailed engineering interface, mobilized to detailed engineering contractor office as the interface engineer and representing the client, handling the detailed design conflicts and liaising with the technical team in order to solve it in the most efficient way. Senior project engineer │ Polvo offshore project │ Devon Energy │ 2007 A subsea development project offshore Brazil. Ahmed was responsible for reviewing the pipe laying procedures, the modifications being done to the laying vessel (originally was a pipe carrier), reviewing the special equipment list to be on-board the vessel, participated in the project HAZID in Aberdeen. Project manager │ Offshore Pipelines Rehabilitation Project │ BP │ 2007 A huge revamp project with an estimated budget of $250,000,000 replacing 15 offshore pipelines with many topsides modifications and replacements. Ahmed was responsible for managing the detailed engineering, procurement and construction for 15 pipelines on 3 phases; each phase contained 5 pipelines; the overall duration of the project is 4 years Ahmed was responsible for managing the work from Enppi’s (Contractor) side, as well as managing the interface between Enppi and sub-sea engineering subcontractor in the UK; coordinating and chairing interface meetings in London, managing the subcontracts. Overseeing all project financials and reporting progress to BP’s project steering committee. Ahmed started as a project engineer on that project in 2005, then nominated by BP in 2006 as the Deputy Project Manager then promoted as a Project Manager in 2007. Mechanical completion engineer │ Simian/Sienna & Sapphire Development Projects │ BG │ 2004 Mobilized to site and assigned as the Mechanical Completion coordinator to manage the mechanical completion activities and the tie-ins of the Simian/Sienna and Sapphire Onshore Development Projects with the existing Scarab/Saffron onshore facilities during the shutdown window. Ahmed was responsible for overall Mechanical Completion (MC) of the Project Systems, identifying obstacles preventing MC targets being met and take appropriate actions to resolve them, sssisting the project manager in developing plans / strategies in conjunction with the Construction Group to most effectively achieve MC targets.
