• The Celts were a people who lived in England,
and they thought that the last day of October
the dead people’s souls visited to the Earth.
• Samhain was the festival in honor of these
souls.
3. How did we gave the name of
Halloween?
• The first of November was All Saints’ Day.
• They used to call it All Hallows’ Day too.
• The night before was Allhallowe'en and with
the time it became in Halloween.
4. Main traditions in the USA and UK
• Jack-o-lanterns: These are pumpkins with a
face cut into one side.
• Apple Bobbing: It’s a typical game that you
have to bobbing for apples.
• Dressing up: People dressed up like monsters
because they thought that this way they
would scare away the spirits.
5. • Trick or Treat: the children knock on doors
demanding a treat and people would give they
some kind of sweets or money.

• On Halloween journeys must be finished
before sunset.
• Take a candle and look into a mirror. Your
future husband will appear peeking over your
