3. FORD
Ford Motor Company was incorporated in Delaware in
1919. The company acquired the business of a Michigan
company, also known as Ford Motor Company, which had
been incorporated in 1903 to produce and sell
automobiles designed and engineered by Henry Ford.
They are a global automotive industry leader based in
Dearborn, Michigan. They manufacture or distribute
automobiles across six continents. With about 187,000
employees and 62 plants worldwide.
4. The success of Ford Motor Company was because its’
strategy encompassed a new way of manufacturing called
mass production, advancements in technology, the supply
chain and most of all changes in lifestyle.
Ford is now a leader in innovation in the automobile
industry right next to BMW. Energy efficient efforts, future
safety features and technology advancements are all what
makes Ford, Ford.
The Tag line of FORD is GO FURTHER.
5. VISION AND MISSION
Ford’s understanding what cultural impact
automobiles will have on the society, made its vision
different from all other car companies. Ford
envisioned cars being an affordable item rather than a
luxury in the near future by transforming the
manufacturing process.
Ford’s personal motto, “Help The Other Fellow”,
affected its goals, work environment and the
corporate strategy of the Ford Motor Company. Ford is
known for building the everyday man’s car focusing
on reliability and quality.

9. FORD FIGO ASPIRE
The Figo Aspire sedan will mark Ford’s maiden
entry into the thriving compact-sedan segment in
India.
Unlike many of its rivals, the Figo Aspire doesn't
look like an extended hatchback with a sedan
shaped boot. The brand ambassador of Ford Figo
Aspire is Farhan Akhtar and its tag line is WHAT
DRIVES YOU.
The Figo Aspire is likely to be made available with
three engine options - a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre
petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel
10. FEATURES OF FIGO ASPIRE
Design- The Figo Aspire is a beautifully designed car, both inside and
outside, with leather seats and wheel base. It has the right amount of
aggression and subtlety. The front grille is inspired from Aston Martin,
and is part of Ford's design language. The slightly flared wheel arches
give the side view of the car a lot of character, and the rear design is
simple, yet elegant.
11. Features continued
Engine- The 1,196 cc Ti-VCT petrol unit is the same engine
found on the outgoing Figo hatchback. The company has now
modified the cylinder head intake ports and also optimised the
cam timing to help the engine deliver more power.
12. Gearbox: The Aspire has two transmissions on offer:
five-speed manual
six-speed Power Shift automatic mated to the 1.5 l petrol
engine.
The Aspire is the only compact sedan in the market with a six-
speed automatic transmission.
Safety :Ford India has put a lot of onus on making the Aspire a
very safe car. The Figo Aspire is the first car in its segment to get
dual front airbags as standard on all trim levels( six airbags) – a
move that deserves appreciation. An interesting security feature
on the Aspire is the perimeter alarm, which detects any
unauthorised attempt to enter the car.
13. Ford MyKey- The MyKey allows you to programme and
set speed warnings and limits, or activate a seat belt
reminder and set the volume levels of the audio system.
14. MyFord Dock- The MyFord Dock, placed at the centre ,
smartly holds a phone or any other device, be it for music
or navigation.

16. Overall Drive feel and Round-up
Ford wanted to build a vehicle that addresses almost every
demand of the targeted consumer. Aspire brings that all- it
offers safety, allows connectivity, has over 20 storage
points inside the car, generous space even for more-than-
average commuters, efficient engines, comfort and overall
decent ride and handling.
17. Unique Selling Proposition
It makes up in the safety department with two airbags
standard across all variants. The Figo Aspire is the only car
in the segment to offer leather seat covers.
The Figo Aspire is marginally better than in terms of
power ratings. The 1.5-litre TDCi delivers 98bhp and
215Nm of torque, making it the most powerful car in the
compact sedan segment.
All the petrol cars are driven by the 1.2-litre units due to
the tax regulations and have similar performance. The only
exception, with Aspire is the 1.5-litre automatic that is
tuned to produce 110bhp and 136Nm.
18. SALES
Ford is determined to make a mark despite its fierce
competition in the sedan segment, which accounts for
nearly 30,000-35,000 cars each month. With sales of 1.1
million vehicles in 2014, compact car segment share was
45 per cent in India’s auto market in 2014.
19. TARGET SEGMENT
Figo Aspire mainly targets the middle class segment,
because the company’s main objective is to make car an
affordable item and not a luxury one so that it can be used
by everyone.
20. CUSTOMER RESPONSE
There’s a lot of storage space in the cabin. Not just
many cup holders, but even the door pockets can hold
large bottles - all pretty useful.
The glove box is fairly large as well and there are a few
more space holders that one can use for loose change,
phone and other oddities.
The Figo Aspire comes with height adjustment in the
top two variants, an equally tall person can sit behind
without having his knees complaining.
As for the boot space - it measures 359 litres in
volume and did well to fit the regular medium sized
bags of three without making us work them hard to
fit.
