3. Research
The research laboratory of ISEP, the LISITE
(Laboratoire d’Informatique, Signal et Image,
Télécommunication et Electronique), is composed
of 3 teams : MINARC, which works in micro,
nanoelectronics and radiocommunications, SITe,
which conducts research on Signal, Image and
Telecommunications and RDI, which manages
research and development in information sciences.
The laboratory maintains close relations with
industrial partners and universities and participates
in projects funded by the French government and
the European Union.

Objectives
With the rapid development of worldwide networks, there is
an urgent need for engineers who are knowledgeable in both
computer and telecommunications techniques and, even more
importantly, engineers able to manage projects and to build
reliable systems with bricks procured from different countries and
providers. The major aim of the program is to teach techniques to
integrate reliable systems and management methods in order to
achieve project objectives, on schedule and at budgeted costs. The
SIPM program develops valuable professional skills and attitudes
that are needed to be competitive internationally. The program is
open to graduates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related
fields (Computer Science, Computer Engineering).
Topics covered
This SIPM program provides advanced knowledge in
architecture, systems and software techniques for computers and
telecommunications. The students are also trained in areas of
expertise such as processes, tools and techniques for integrating
components into consistent and reliable solutions. In addition, the
program covers such specific project management approaches as
specification, contracts, time & cost management, procurement,
risk, quality, resources, communication & reporting, team
management and customer relations.

Objectives
Today, wireless communications are undergoing an unprecedented
revolution. Simultaneously, the applications for which they are used
are also widening: fields as diverse as the 4th generation of mobile
phones, sensor networks, management of energy sources, medical
applications, etc.
The Applications in the Communications Environment (ACE) major
aims at helping students better understand communications.
Students will be turned into experts in the design of systems related
to various real-world applications such as biomedicine, mobile
communications,energyresources,automobiles,etc.Moreglobally,
this program aims at training engineers in communications,
covering issues encountered, be they strategic, economic or
managerial. Emphasis is laid on teaching tools and methods that
incite the creation of innovative communications services with high
added value, high quality of service and suitability for the market.
Prospective career options for graduates include: consultants in
wireless network infrastructure and deployment, consultants with
mobile operators, R&D positions in industries such as automobiles,
mobile handsets, electronics design (in mixed-signal, RF and VLSI),
etc.
Organisation
The program is organized as a three-semester course. It aims
to teach in-depth knowledge of wireless communications and
networks, digital and analog systems, wireless transceivers,
fabrication and technology issues. Emphasis will be laid on the
future of communication and technologies. Several real-world
applications will be studied and continued in the form of an end-
of-studies project.
