Q6
1. Q6.) What have you learnt from
technologies from the process
of creating this product?
2. • PowerPoints were one of the main uses of technology within my
research and planning for my opening title sequence. I did research
on other existing OTS’s and compared the conventions etc. Our idea
presentations were also conducted on here. This technology is very
useful as it is easy to use. It offers the use of pictures as well as words,
ideal for presentations.
• Another form of technology used when conducting research and
planning was SlideShare as it allowed us to share our research and
planning on the group blog for it to be marked. We had to embed our
work from there for it to be on he actual blog.
Research and Planning Technologies:
3. • We used the dissolve effect through out the editing process to
establish the passing of time as well as to give the scenes a flow
within the opening title sequence. The tool was useful to help
minimise the duration of our OTS as we were able to stick around the
3 minute point. It offers an alternative to jump cuts which do not
always suit opening title sequences within the horror genre.
• When filming we also used the focus pull effect on the camera, this
helps the audience concentrate on the presented image. An example
of this when we recorded the rear view mirror, it was enigmatic at
first with the transition of music and the protagonist stopping his
vehicle however then the audience were able to see a lying figure on
the floor, offering some insight to what happened.
Construction Technologies:
4. • Prezi was one of the many technologies used through the evaluation
process as I was able to present a range of conventions within our
horror opening title sequence. I was able import images from our
actual footage to illustrate examples from our OTS sequence as well.
This formed a presentation of some of the few generic conventions.
