My Achievements:
In 1991, I was assigned the challenging task from high officials for cold and hot
commissioning of Fiat TG 50 D gas turbine units 3-4 on Gas when OEM quit the
site without commissioning the system. After completion of commissioning activities,
the unit was successfully started without any fail start this was highly appreciated by
high officials.
In 1992, there was a fire incident on GT-4 which resulted in total damaging of all
instrumentation/pneumatic valves, cables, switches installed inside the turbine
enclosure. I was assigned challenging task from plant Chief Engineer to renovate the
unit within ten days’ time, the target was achieved and task was completed within in
assigned time against the claimed time of thirty days by OEM/ Fiat and machine was
started without any single false start
Prepared the punch lists of deficiency points with reference to contract documents,
during erection and commissioning of ABB steam turbine units 9&10 and BOP This
resulted in commercial benefit to the organization through tremendous improvements
in operation, maintenance, safety and control system.
In 1997-98 we achieved appreciable reduction in trips on block-1 due to I&C problems
from 5812 utilizing Engineering and Managerial skills.
Successful Commissioning of ABB 112 MW steam turbine (STG-10) after MOH in
2002 without ALSTOM’s commissioning Engineer.
Successful Commissioning of Siemens Gas turbine V94.2 (GT-2) after 2002 MOH
without Siemens’s commissioning Engineer.
Introduction of electronic over speed on units 1&2, which M/s Siemens refused to
implement, claiming that this is not possible and it needs complete control system
replacement. (2004)
