This document discusses Women's Health In the North (WHIN), a government-funded organization that aims to improve women's health and financial capability in Melbourne. It focuses on helping newly arrived migrant and refugee women. The document explains that financial literacy involves making informed decisions while financial capability is impacted by social and structural barriers facing women. It also outlines some of the barriers to women's financial capability, such as gender, culture, education, and economic access. Finally, the document proposes addressing these barriers through women's groups, gender-specific and culturally sensitive programs that provide childcare, community language resources, and referral services.
