3. General Labelling Requirements
• Every pre-packaged food shall carry a label.
• The information shall not be false or misleading.
• Where the container is covered by a wrapper, the wrapper shall carry the
necessary information.
• Labelling information includes:
 The Name of food
 List of Ingredients
 Nutritional Information
 Declaration regarding Veg & Non-Veg
 Declaration regarding food additives
 Name and address of the manufacturer
 Net Quantity
 Lot/Code/Batch Identification
 Date of manufacturing or packing
 Best Before and Use by Date
 Country of origin
 Instructions for use
 Warning and advisory statements

6. As per EU Standards
• The organic logo of the EU must have a height of at least 9 mm
and a width of at least 13.5 mm; the proportion ratio
height/width shall always be 1:1.5.Minimum size may be
reduced to a height of 6mm for very small packages
• Organic Status of the product along with the Product’s Name
• Under the logo it should be written: “IN-BIO-134” and below
that “Non-EU Agriculture should be mentioned
• Lacon Institut logo
• “Certified organic as per Lacon Organic Standard considered
equivalent to EC reg 834/2007 and 889/2008 by Lacon GmbH”

7. Percentage Statements
• Percentage statement must not exceed ½
the size of the largest type on the panel.
• Must be entirely the same type, style, size,
and color, without highlighting.
