6.4% last October 2011 to 1.6% on January 2012 by making an analysis of the
defect types, the rout causes and the preventive actions and future plan.
Current Work
Duties
The responsibilities of the Quality Manager include but not limited to:
 Put in place and operate QA Management systems addressing the total project
development.
 Assure implementation of the existing Project Management System that assures
Company policies, objectives, targets and standards are met.
 Support Company Project Management in ensuring the effectiveness of the
management system through the development of Health Checks / Self-
assessment and Audit, which will assist in identifying improvement to the
system.
 Ensure that adequate development and monitoring / review of the Contractor’s
Technical Integrity Verification Process is in place.
 Provide support in management reviews of the Management System.
 Provide technical QA and Integrity advice and input to other disciplines in detail
design and installation engineering.
 Provide assistance to the project teams to achieve full QA and Integrity
compliance with country's Regulatory requirements within the deadlines
governed by the project execution schedules.
 Ensure that QA and integrity management evaluation in pre-qualification of
Contractors and Bid Evaluations, and QA and Integrity management system
requirements in Tenders and Contracts.
 Raise QA and Integrity awareness and ensure QA and Integrity considerations
are addressed in detail design and all subsequent project execution activities.
 Ensure that QA and Integrity document management system is in place to
efficiently document commissioning and start-up of systems for ‘Handover’ to
Operations.
 Liaise with Third Party Inspection Parties during all the applicable phases of the
project.
 Liaise with Contractor QA and Integrity Management and advice and assist when
necessary.
 Review Contractors’ Execution Plans / Quality Plans and manage audit of
Contractor activities.
 Manage the project Action Tracking system.
 Manage and monitor QA and Integrity performance against targets set in the
project Audit Plan. This includes capture, tracking and closeout of QA and
Integrity related issues.
 Provide active support & technical QA and Integrity advice to project site teams,
including site visits to monitor & audit Contractors QA and Integrity performance

 Preparing Quality Plan, Inspection/Test Plan and Procedures.
 Verify that all quality control, inspection and test procedures have been
approved.
 Plan, coordinate and supervise the inspection activities at site.
 Review QA/QC documentation control/management systems till handover to
commissioning activities.
 Conducting internal audits as per schedule of the project quality plan.
 Checking newly received and stock materials to ensure compliance with the
Company’s specifications and relevant standards.
 Prepare WPS & witnessing WPS qualification tests.
 Witnessing and verification of welder qualification tests.
 Monitoring of fit-up/welding works to ensure compliance with specifications.
 Verify that the required NDT and tests have been carried out and that the results
are acceptable.
 Ensure welding inspection, surface preparation and painting & coating inspection
are performed and the results are acceptable.
 Conducting thorough visual inspection including dimension checks of critical or
major dimensions and
 Verifies the Red-line Marked Up drawings.
 Witnessing of hydrostatic tests, reinstatement tests and the like to ensure
compliance with the Company’s
 Specifications and relevant standards.
 Coordination of radiographic work requirement for any particular task and
verifying the interpretation of radiographic films.
 All other necessary inspections, tests, checks, reviews and the like required to
meet the Company Quality
 Control and Quality Assurance objectives.
 Attend progress meetings as and when required.
 Review of QAQC part of the final documentations.
 Maintain inspection files and logs; prepare inspection reports, correspondence
and other written materials.
 Monitor all safety aspects of the inspection and NDT works onsite and participate
in HSE program at job site.
 Fully conversant & familiar with most of International Standards & Codes
including but not limited to the followings:
ANSI, API, ASME, NACE, BS, DIN, ASTM, AWS, EN, EEMUA, NFPA, PFI, IEC,
SHELL DEP`s and ISO.

 Manage the timely review, processing and approval of QA/QC deliverables of
FEED and EPIC Engineering, as well as Vendors Quality related documents,
i.e. Project Quality Plans, Quality Management and Control Plans, ITPs and
other QA/QC documentation
 Review and ensure that all work undertaken by Contractor/Sub-
Contractors/Vendors/Manufacturers/Service providers is in accordance with
project /applicable specifications, International codes and standards, and
Contract QA/QC requirements. Witnesses Factory/Site Acceptance Tests
"FAT", as required, and ensure that tests and inspection of works are carried
out as stated in the specifications and endorse the relevant test certificates
 As certified lead auditor, responsible of the activities of Internal and External
Project QA/QC Audits on the Sub-Contractor/Supplier/Vendor and ensure that
all Audit findings are properly closed and root causes has been identified and
corrective actions has been taken for non-re-occurrences. Conduct visits to
site to check work-in-progress is in compliance with Project quality
requirements. Raise necessary NCRs/CARs with different categories “major or
minor” and follow-up on the effective and timely closure of findings
