Basic Forms of Social Media and How they work

2. Twitter • Twitter is probably the most used social media
amongst teens and young adults.
• It is used to update your friends on what you’re doing
or share a funny video
• Twitter is a micro blog meaning it’s a small amount of
text sharing the info what you want.
• There are also things called Hashtags “#”
• For example if you’re tired you can add at the end of
the tweet : “#drained”

3. Facebook • Facebook is used to share you personal life amongst
friends and family
• Post photos and links to interesting articles
• There is no limit to the amount of characters you can
use in a post
• People use this to connect with distant friends you
haven’t connected with in a long time

4. Instagram • Instagram is used to post photos you’ve taken
throughout the day or week
• People often take pictures of food and post what
they’re eating or where they are at and what they’re
currently doing
• It is also popular for group photos and other things like
that
• It is a Photo based social media allowing itself to be
linked throughTwitter and Facebook as well as various
other forms of Social Media
