1. Ali BABA And the forty thieves
And AlAddin
The folktale, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and
the movie, Aladdin, have very many similarities and
differences. Ali Baba is a folktale story that is written
in text. Aladdin is a Disney movie that has been
animated. Here are a few similarities and differences.
One similarity that Ali Baba and Aladdin share is
that they are both Arabian folktales. An Arabian
folktale is a folktale that is written hundreds of years
ago. They also take place in Arabian areas.
Another similarity is that Aladdin and Ali Baba
both have a “bad guy”. The bad guy in Ali Baba is the
thief, or robber, and in Aladdin it’s Jiffare. These “bad
guys” both have a very persistent and greedy
personality.
The last similarity that both folktales share is that
Aladdin and Ali Baba have “trickster” characters. The
“trickster” character in Aladdin is, well, Aladdin. And
for Ali Baba, it’s Morigana. These “trickster”
characters are both very smart and know how to use
their minds to fool.
Now, I will talk about differences. One difference
between these two folktales is that Aladdin gets three
wishes and Ali Baba doesn’t. The reason Aladdin gets
three wishes is because he found a lamp with a genie
in it. There is no genie in Ali Baba.
Two, Ali Baba is much older than Aladdin.
Aladdin is younger and he’s not married until the end
2. of the movie. Ali Baba is married at the beginning of
the story.
Three, last but not least, Aladdin is kind of like a
musical and has music in it. Ali Baba does not have
music because it’s a written story and not a movie.
Aladdin is a movie, so it can have music playing.
You now know that Ali Baba and Aladdin have
many similarities and differences. I like the movie
Aladdin a bit better than the story of Ali Baba because
I like being able to watch it and I like hearing music.
But, you may have a different opinion. That’s just
what I think.
