1. For my task 3 3D game task I Have been asked to create and develop a level within the unity game
engion I will be keeping a record of my work flow in the below to keep you up to date with what I
have done each day and why I have done each pacific thign I add to the world.
Here you can see some images of me creating my terrain this is a new thing for me because I don’t
really have any experience of doing this before I found this to be difficult in some parts but overall I
find creating my level to be enjoyable and a good experience for me.
2. Here is my own texture which I have created in Photoshop you can see the before and after of my
work in the first image you can see the texture split into four and in the second one you can see that
I have merged the rocky texture to make it look like it should be in certain pieces.
Here you can see that I have added grass and trees to my level this is to give it more of an island like
environment and to add more detail into my level I will also add more trees which look different to
make it look more real and just overall better.
3. Here you can see me messing round with texture editor I will use this to create unique and different
sorts of textures I will also be using this for the majority of my own texture creations if not all of
them.
Here you can see me making one of my outpost bases on my map there will be a number of these
for the player to loot and find new weapons and materials. This will be expanded and I will create a
city around this to give it an inner city feel to my level. On the right hand side you can see that I have
added a water tower this is just more detail for my map.
4. Here you can see that I have made an abandoned train track leading to my outpost this is set after
the war and the back story is a zombie outbreak on a lost island somewhere in the pacific on a island
controlled by whatever remains.
Here you can see that I have added some buildings to my camp this is to make it look less like a
prison to give it a more like abandoned city which is what I am aiming to achieve by the end of it.
5. Here you can see that I have added some shelters to my abandoned prison the reason for this being
is that I needed to fill some space and I needed to create a much darker feel to my environment so I
decided to add the buildings to build up my environment.
Here you can see that I have imported a train station in front of my prison the reason for this is
because you start of at the end of the train tracks so the idea is you follow the tracks and find this
place at the other end of it.
6. Here you can see that I have put a street light into my game this I so I can keep the level dark and to
make it much more mysteries and it gives me an excuse to add the street lights for more detail.
Now I have placed my lighting I moved onto putting detail onto my level here you can see some
crates I have placed them around my level to make it look less empty and just for a bit of extra
detail.
7. This image shows you some red crates this is to make the map look more like an army base rather
than a storage unit or a prison this was easy to place onto my level due to the fact I used a pack from
the assets store.
Here you can see my flosser raptor this was just for a bit of fun and to make my game scary and I
wanted to add a monster to my game and this was all I could find at the time.
8. Here you can see that I have put barricades to my front entrance of my level this is to tell the player
to not go inside but they will go inside because that’s part of the game and I used the barricades as
detail to make my level look better.
This image shows you my army base this is to make it look like an army base although you can’t drive
then yet they are there for detail.
9. Here you can see that I have put some trees onto my map this is just more detail and I have used it
along with bushes and grass to make my ground to look less plain and to make my level look much
better because of the extra detail.
Here you can see my final product in the end I went with an army base from WW2 the reason for
this being was I didn’t want a prison and I had more assets for an army base so I decided to just put
spot lights and towers around the base and make it look like a German army base.
