1. What kind of media institution might distribute your media
product and why?
Now looking back at my preliminary task, Check Mate I can defiantly see how I have
come from creating a product which uses very basic skills and is of poor quality to
the Opening Sequence of Father & Son than I have learn a lot over the course of this
project.
I my preliminary tasks the camera angles I use were very minimal and basic; and the
overall product was very poor.
But this has allowed me to see what aspects were good and bad, meaning that I
could put by new found understanding of how to make my filming better and more
professional I was able to progress to the level of work I can produce now.
I have learn how important it is to use make sure that the camera is stable to
eliminate any shaky footage and to get the perfect shot and that is it is best to make
sure that all the equipment functions properly to maintain a the quality of work. I
also learn how to use the editing program Sony Vegas more productively and how to
use the more visual effects to improve upon the footage we used.
Also I have realised how important it is to use the proper environment for the
shooting; in my preliminary task we used a small room which seemed perfect for the
storyline and to get the effect we wanted, but as it was ideal, it was far too small for
us to get any descent footage as there was not enough space for use to set up the
tripod to keep the camera steady.
I our opening sequence we found the ideal location for the shooting as it was a large
open space which mean we were able to move around feely without having to think
about how much room we had available. Also we took advantage of what the natural
environment of the set had to offer as instead of having the main character climb
over a boulder, we had him jump over a steam which made the overall piece much
more exciting.
