Learning Photoshop Tools and Techniques for Image Editing
1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?• Photoshop-
• I learnt from Photoshop how to successfully crop and image out from its original background, so I can transfer it
onto a plain background, I used this on my cover, contents page and double page spread.
• Using the wand tool helped a lot as it gave a clear cut around the object you wanted to crop out and saved a lot of
time, then you would simply erase the background and would leave you with the object only, in my case my
models.
• After cutting them out I learnt how to use the blur tool which I hadn't used before to get a smoother more life-like
cut out of the person from the background.
• After producing just the object on its own I used the blur tool which I have not previously used, it was helpful
because you could get a more life-like cut to the object you have ‘cut out’
• Also using the brightness controls and saturation controls on Photoshop could give your image a more
professional look by giving it tints and producing a studio like photo
• Powtoon
• ‘Powtoon' was my least favourite of the new technologies for my blog, I found it very difficult to navigate my way
around the program as it was not simple and it was very slow, It was difficult to change font sizes and change the
layout of my work
• I did however like the look 'Powtoon' gave to a presentation as it is very interesting to look and it is used for
businesses so it looked classy in my blog
• Padlet
• Padlet is very good as it looks stylish and professional, it is easy to use with it spider diagram setup with easy
instructions on how to use it. Having never used one like this it is by far my best.
