  • 1. January 23, 2009 <ul><li>A recent associated press news report says Dallas may spend one million dollars a year providing protection for former president Bush. The federal government will not be reimbursing Dallas. Should they? </li></ul>
  • 2. Homework <ul><li>Your coin design is due today </li></ul><ul><li>If you get it to me Monday you will lose only 10 points </li></ul><ul><li>You can e mail it to me </li></ul>
  • 3. New Class Rules <ul><li>You will be graded on my observations of your classwork and behavior. This will account for 50 percent of your grade. </li></ul><ul><li>You will lose big points for 42’s or cutting classes or lateness </li></ul><ul><li>Your opener is 1/5 of this grade </li></ul>
  • 4. Class Rules <ul><li>The rest of your grade will be a mix of your notebook, quizzes and homework. </li></ul><ul><li>FROM NOW ON KEEP YOUR NOTEBOOK UNTIL I ASK FOR IT! </li></ul>

Class Rules <ul><li>Homework is now 20 percent of your grade </li></ul><ul><li>Homework is to be turned in separately from your notebook </li></ul><ul><li>Homework is due the day after it is assigned </li></ul><ul><li>Homework a week late or more will be counted as a zero unless special arrangements are made </li></ul>
  • 6. Class rules <ul><li>Quizzes are 20 percent of your grade </li></ul><ul><li>Expect quizzes at least weekly </li></ul><ul><li>Webquests will count as quizzes </li></ul><ul><li>Quizzes turned in a week late or more will be counted as zeros unless special arrangements are made </li></ul>
  • 7. The opener <ul><li>WILL BE TAKEN DOWN AFTER TEN MINUTES!! </li></ul><ul><li>If you haven’t gotten it by then you will not get it. </li></ul><ul><li>Turn in your opener daily </li></ul><ul><li>No opener means 1/10 of that days grade is gone </li></ul>

Your notes <ul><li>DO NOT TURN THEM IN! </li></ul><ul><li>Keep them for quizzes and such </li></ul><ul><li>You are being graded by my observations of you taking notes </li></ul><ul><li>I will check the notebooks as needed, possibly only at the end of the quarter </li></ul><ul><li>Do not leave your notes here! </li></ul>
