4. Aims of the project:
Raise awareness of how/where ITT & mentoring can be integrated into
the Performance Management framework
Raise the status of mentors
Recognise mentor achievement
Engage staff in using the Professional Standards Framework
Develop and extend lesson observation skills
Develop the quality of professional dialogue following lesson
observations
Embed quality assurance mechanisms within school
5. Cluster Focus:
Each school in the cluster worked to an agreed
programme of activity (Training Plan)
Term 1: Introduction and lesson observation training and review
Term 2: Paired lesson observations and review PM targets
Term 3: Cross cluster observations and TLA presentation
6. Achievements:
Raised awareness of how mentoring can support P M framework
ITT targets set and evidence gathered
Increased engagement with TLA (recognition)
Standards referenced in observations and personal reflection
High level of agreement on judgements – increase in confidence
Focussed dialogue through explicit reference to Q standards
ITT profile raised in cluster schools
Quality assurance mechanism established in cluster schools
