there bravery and courage

would not have the freedom we

3. How Did Anzac Day Start?
• ANZAC Day started with the Australian
and New Zealand corps landing on the
Gallipoli peninsula as the first significant
combat of the war for those two
countries. As they made there way out
of the boats and up the hills, little did
they know that the German troops were
purposely waiting for them over the hill.
The purpose o killed thousands of
ANZACS and was known to be one of
the worst invasions in the war! Even
though many survived the bravery of
ones that didn't were made thought of to
introduce ANZAC DAY.

4. Red Poppy:
• The red poppy is the symbol for ANZAC Day, it
represents the bloodshed of fallen soldiers and
the bloodiest battles. The red poppy was the first
plant to regrow in the muddy fields where the
troops had been. Once the war was over there
were fields and fields of bloomed poppies which
symbolized that they were home.
