Beauty Appeal
This advert has used beautiful women
to advertising their product. This then
makes the customer think that they will
then look like the women in the advert.

Celebrity Endorsement

Certain advertising
companies will use famous
well known faces to
promote their product
because a celebrity is
recommending it they are
more likely to want to buy
it.

Escape
This technique is used to make people want to be at
that certain location not in England which very rarely
has any sunny weather. The use of the sun and beach
draws people in who wish they could be relaxing on a
warm, sunny beach right now.

Independence/Individuality

This technique is used to make the viewer feel
like if they did or used whatever the advert was
displaying, they would stand out from the
crowd, be individual or ‘better’ than everybody
else.

Intelligence
This technique uses intelligence to promote a product.
This helps to promote the company or product to be
intelligent and would make people to buy it because of the
memorableness of the advert or the fact that you could feel
more intelligent having it
Lifestyle
This technique makes the product seem like it
will change the buyers life and will make it
better all round.this will make people want to
buy it because it will make everyday day life
better and simpler.

Nurture
This technique makes the viewer feel guilty and then
makes then think that they would like to help
contribute to a society, charity or place by pulling at
their emotions

Peer Approval
This technique advertises their product or services by making
it seem like having this would gain approval from your peers.
It’s kind of saying that when you drink this, you will be
accepted, cool and part or the crowd

Rebel
The image that the company wants to portray is
“rebellion” by having a girl flash a security camera,
doing things you aren’t supposed to do and to have
fun while you still can. And its also saying that you
have to have balls to wear these jeans .

Rhetorical Question
This advert persuades people to donate buy using footage
of young children being negelected to make people feel
emotional and sorry for the children, therefore they want to
make the childrens life better, so they will or hopefully
should dontate.

Scientific / Statistical Claim

This technique is used to make people think that this
product is the best around, for example, “85% of women
would recommended this product!” that claim there will
draw women in and make them more prone to buying it.

Unfinished Comparison / Claim
This technique is where the advert uses a
statement such as “the best there is!” to promote
their product, without using any evidence to
support their claim.
