Ray Bradbury s The Martian Chronicles
Bradbury: Hopeful or Hopeless
People choose to see the best aspects in things and but some tend to see the worst. In The Martian
Chronicles by Ray Bradbury, the plot is represented as optimistic, but also pessimistic. Bradbury is
portrayed his ideas as a pessimistic because he brought the idea of that man is parasitic and ruins the
environment wherever he goes, he presents the transition of the Martian culture with the Earthling
s, and reveals the destruction of Earth as the atomic war broke out.
Starting off, the idea of that man is parasitic and that he ruins the environment wherever he goes to
is brought up on Earth and Mars. On Mars and when Spender was at the canal, Bradbury states, ...he
carried six empty bottles and dropped them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Separation Of Power In America
When the colonists first arrived to the New World there were very few obligations and rules that
the British government had set for them and they were on their own to live their life in the way
they saw fit. Throughout the years, England realized how much of an asset the New World was to
their economy. Due to the American colonies great advantages to their economy and their
everyday lives, Great Britain became greedy and decided that only they should be able to exploit
from the colonies. This greed prompted the Crown to implement new taxes and regulations in order
to obtain a larger profit. After many attempts to work with Great Britain and being dismissed, the
colonist declared independence from England. This caused the Revolutionary War and in 1783 the
colonists were finally free from Great Britain. The colonists drew from the positive and negative
experiences from the Crown s rule when writing their own country s government. The crown s
supreme rule over all aspects of the colonists life compelled the colonists to incorporate a limited
government into the Constitution. Because of the lack of representation that the colonists
possessed during during colonial times, when making the constitution they secured the idea of
popular sovereignty as an effort to make sure that all citizens could have an opinion in their ruling.
Separation of power was implemented into the Constitution for the purpose of denying one person
excessive power. Checks and balances fall under

The Influence Of John Dewey In American Schools
Many people have been critical about the American education system throughout the county s
history. John Dewey was an extremely influential thinker on the topic of education during the 20th
Century. He argued that education should be made up of social and interactive processes, and the
school itself is a social place, where social reform can and should take place. He believed that
students do well in an environment where there are experiences and interaction with the curriculum.
He also believed that every student should have the opportunity to take part in their own learning.
His views can be seen in our own educationsystem today. With the vast opportunities, boundless
electives, and the curriculum, schools today are preparing students for John Dewey s vision which
influences students to become educated citizens.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many high schools offer internships. The internships allow students to be independent and follow
their path and focus on what they want to do. The internship gives students social interaction to
help with adult life. Schools give many options for guidance in their future, such as for those who
think they are ready for a college workload can apply to get a high school diploma and an associates
degree at the same time. The program at my school allows students to attend a local community
college while in high school. The program helps benefit students for their wants with specialized
cultivated education. While some schools might not provide students with certain opportunities,
they could offer others with opportunities more tailored to the school or community. The education
system in place now prepares students in accordance with Dewey s vision with its vast

Risks And Challenges Of Indian Construction Industry
RISKS AND CHALLENGES IN INDIAN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Risk in Construction needless to mention, with huge money, comes the company of big risks. In the
area of Indian construction, the risks are abundant, due to the involvement of legal, political,
financial and cultural complexities. As far as construction in India is concerned, there is lack of
experience, but the opportunities for growth for companies willing to enter the arena are immense.
The domestic construction industry is growing at a rapid pace, due to high demand for housing and
increase in expenditure on infrastructure. All of the most challenging projects across country
involve a variety of complex processes working simultaneously. Every critical activity is associated
with a risk and can negatively affect the project objectives, such as time and schedule, cost and
quality of work. The number of risks arising from a task is directly proportional to the number of
people working on it. Mismanagement is one of the various sources of risk. These days, most of
the big projects are sublet to sub contractors, and therefore risk assessment and mitigation has
become more and more challenging. (McKinsey Company, 2009) (Sharmila Pimplikar, n.d.)
As a developing country, India has not focused on risk management. Construction projects in India
face various types of risks such as business risks, financial risks, technology risk, project risk and
political risk. Most common challenges encountered by the construction

Peasants And Serfs
Peasants were members of the lowest class, those who work. They were the most common class.
They were the millers, blacksmiths, butchers, carpenters, farmers, and other trades people.
Peasant women in particular, spent much of their time taking care of children, making clothes,
and cooking meals. They also tended gardens, took care of animals by tending chicken, shearing
sheep, and milking cows (Cels 16). Within peasants, there were two main groups of people, the
serfs and the freemen. Both were employed by the lords. And serfs were people that paid more
fees, and had less rights. Freemen on the other hand paid less fees and had more rights than serfs
(Noiret). While freemen could leave the manor when at whim, serfs were not allowed to leave...

Serfs grew the food and made the things that everyone required, and without them, the system
would collapse. Manorialism was also important to it as a source of order and economy. In this

practice of it mostly disappeared with the Middle Ages, it is still an imprinted government in

The Role Of Immigrants In Animal Crackers And Annie Hall
The role of the immigrant as an American cultural figure cannot be understated, and the cultural
values associated with immigrant versus non immigrant Jews in particular are primarily class
values. However, even once assimilated and wealthy, upper class Jews face a difficult situational
dichotomy: Whether to join the high minded literati (a category that Jews helped shape in America)
or the more vulgar entrepreneurial class. The anxieties associated with Jewish history complicate
this choice, and its consequences are echoed in many films, including Animal Crackersand Annie
Hall. Perhaps the dichotomy between the high minded wealthy Jew and the vulgar wealthy Jew
can be most clearly seen by looking at Jack and Harry Warner. As profiled in Gabler s Between
the Old Life and the New, Harry Warner was a devoted family man, lived a quiet life... a stern
moralist who would eventually assume the role of moral adjudicator to his entire family. He
was also a more observant Jew, and less religiously assimilated. Jack, meanwhile, was a veteran
provocateur who incited everyone, regarded as a frustrated comedian who liked nothing better
than telling very bad jokes in a loud voice, and seemed to enjoy creating embarrassment. He also
repeatedly refused any religious instruction. In some sense, Jack could be seen as assimilated
while Harry could be seen as defiantly Jewish. But it would be just as easy to paint the opposite
picture: Despite their religious differences, Harry put effort into coming across as a member of
high society, while Jack intentionally resisted and even opposed those norms. Harry would often
have to apologize for Jack, claiming he didn t have the advantages of such a good education. Here,
we see the beginning of the high minded/vulgar dichotomy that would continue to separate wealthy
Jews for the next century. The Marx BrothersAnimal Crackers shows that this trope was already
recognized in the culture, and plays with the trope intentionally. When we first see Groucho Marx,
he is playing the role of Captain Spaulding, a rich adventurer returned from Africa. It s never quite
clear, in the film, to what extent Groucho is pretending to be Spaulding, and to what extent he
actually

My Dream Story
The story behind me is very long. Lots of stupid things have been done that are very very stupid. I
would say it all began 17 years ago in a hospital but, that s going to be a lot of work to type a paper.
I m going to start this wonderful life, last year school year. Near the end so all the fun of my life
begins. To present day where I continue to do the stuff that makes people mad but it is very fun for
me. It was an early morning in the month of May near the end of the day and I was in my Civics
class. We were working on our budget project and I was down in the library with a few other
people. Believe it or not I got bored really really quick. When I was walking back I was walking on
paper all the way back up to class because I was told do it so I did. When I got back to class my
teacher gave me a very weird look and didn t say a word. I kept asking, What I can t touch the
ground. She didn t say a single word. Just a few days later within the month of May, it was a cool
warm night. Where everything was perfect on how it was. No wind, a solid 78 degrees, all by a
bonfire around 11 at night. We were sitting there talking and out of nowhere I just got up and
decided to walk across the fire for no reason. Everyone looked at me very weirdly. All I asked was,
What? My friend Owen just said, You re dumb why would you even do that? All I could come up
with was, Why not? He just looked away and laughed. After walking over that fire over and over

Competitive Forces Analysis Of Amazon
Competitive Forces Analysis. Amazon, Google, and Apple each have competitive advantages in
various markets; however, one specific market proved difficult for Amazon to cultivate a
competitive advantage. Shaping competition, the five forces, known as threats of new entrants,
power of suppliers, power of buyers, threats of substitutes, and existing rivalry, determine industry
profitability and influence the ability to gain competitive advantage (Rothaermel, 2017). Notably,
failing to understand the forces can results in negative gains. Within the U.S. technology industry,
the smartphone market has strong competitive forces, yet profit potential. In particular, the
smartphone market has established firms, such as Google and Apple, each with large market shares,
which lessens profitability potential for new entrants. Nevertheless, Amazon, pursuing a
differentiation strategy, attempted to develop and market the Fire smartphone in 2014 to diversify
business activities (Rothaemel McKay, 2015). One force Amazon encountered was the presence of
entry barriers. Established firms, Google and Apple, had proven brand recognition, economies of
scale, and loyal consumer base in the smartphone industry, and an entering firm, such as Amazon,
faced risk. From Amazon s view, entering into the smartphone market required significant capital
investment, with unpredictable effects, to develop a differentiated, price competitive product.
Furthermore, the threat of substitutes was high

Understanding And Being Able To Speak A New Language Can
Understanding and being able to speak a new language can only bring positive things. In addition
to improving your resume, several studies claim that knowing more than one language makes
you smarter, because you use parts of your brain that would otherwise be unused. In addition, if
you are one of those who travel a lot, knowledge of other languages is vital for you to be able to get
the most out of your travels. Having a second languageis one of the most demanded requirements in
the workplace, so today studying a languageis no longer a whim, it is almost a necessity. Most

Due to the existence of this simultaneous process, one of the purposes of the teacher should be to
help the student make both hemispheres work together.
The pre school stage, according to theories of neuropsychological development, is excellent for
introducing new concepts in a second language to the child. The child s brain is like a sponge.
Since 50 percent of the ability to learn is developed in the first years of life, and another 30 percent
by age eight, early childhood development programs have the opportunity to encourage early
learning and development.
During the first six months of life, babies babble using 70 sounds that make up all the languages
in the world. The babies will learn to talk using only the sounds and words that they hear from
their environment, principally from their parents and caregivers. A baby s brain will then discard
the ability to speak in languages he or she does not hear (Kotulak, 1996). During this period and
especially the first three years of life, the foundations for thinking, language, vision, attitudes,
aptitudes, and other characteristics are laid down, says Ronald Kotulak, author of Inside the Brain.
That s one of the reasons why is better to learn the second language when you are young.
The impulses of the second language must be constant since the children learn faster, but also they

Buying Renting Your Vacant Home
To Rent or Sell Your Vacant Home

By going with a real estate agent to sell your vacant home, the process will go a lot more
smoothly when compared to doing it by yourself, especially if you need to sell it within a short
period of time. They will help you and tell you what to do when it comes to preparing the home,
like referring you to a plumber or an electrician to have them come in and do a walk through to
ensure everything is in order.
They will also give you advice when it comes to whether or not you should stage the home, or just
leave it empty of furniture, if you currently do not have any in there. Your real estate agent will also
guide you through the selling price, meeting with potential buyers, going over the negotiation
process, and finalizing the sale. However, if you would like them to handle the meeting with
buyers, negotiations, and closing the deal, you can sit out of these parts completely.
Although, if you are still unsure whether or not you want to sell or rent your vacant home, or you

Constitutional Democratic Republic Political Change
Next, a constitutional democratic republic facilitates political change and progress. This is a
predominant attribute surrounding a government, as without it, no wrong can be solved or ailment
corrected. The American Suffrage movement is an impeccable example of political change being a
necessity in order to grant women suffrage. Due to the availability and mercurial nature of a
constitutional democratic republic, even massive alterations such as granting suffrage to a group of
citizens is possible. Without this allowance for political change and social progress women would
most likely not be allowed to vote. Thus, the 19th amendment is a visible demonstration of this
allowance for political change even under extreme circumstances (Constitution).... Show more

This hinders the establishment of a one party states, such as demonstrated in China, North Korea,
Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, and Eritrea. One party states remove the ability of citizens to think for
themselves, independent from the ideas of the government. It also limits a citizen s ability to
project their opinion as there is only a singular party as an option. This party is the preference of
the government and often times has the government s sustainability as the paramount concern
(Gale). Yet, a multi party/dual party state allows for a broader scheme of citizens opinions and
preferences to be incorporated into the government. As well, the re election cycle every four
years, allows for the possibility of a new party to take the presidency, giving a refresh on mass
opinion, and making sure the democratic preference has the presidential seat. This idea of a re
election cycle is also seen in the Senate, the Supreme Court and Gubernatorial positions. Thus,
these frequent modifications to our nation s leadership allow for a much needed availability for

What Is The Theme Of Borders By Thomas King
All the Borders Crossed in Thomas King s Borders Thomas King s short story Borders narrates the
conflict occurring in North America, in which a Native American mom and her son become
involved when she tries to cross the borders between Canada and U.S to visit her daughter Laetitia,
but she denies to claim other citizenship than Blackfoot. Although the only border explicitly crossed
is the geographical border separating both countries, the title s plurality suggests there is more than
one single border present in the story. A further analysis to the comments about the Blackfoot
community, the differences between Laetitia and her mother, and the ways of identification
requested by the guards, suggests that they are three more other borders... Show more content on

The mother is the character representing the pride of the Blackfoot. She attempts to pass their
values down to her children by narrating them their myths, as her son describes, she d tell them
slow, repeating parts as she went, as if she expected me to remember each one. (144), but he does
not pay attention and think about food instead. Due to being from different generations, the two
siblings, do not share the same sense of belonging to the Blackfoot that the mother has, and
therefore they lack the effort towards understanding her. Laetitia is especially reluctant towards
the Blackfoot tradition, which can be appreciated in the dialogue: You can still see the mountain
from here, my mother told Laetitia in Blackfoot. Lots of mountains in Salt Lake, Laetitia told her
in English. (135) Laetitia does not embrace her Blackfoot identity, as she is not willing to speak
in Blackfoot and eventually ends up moving to the U.S. As Gruber argues, King s depiction of the
scenario amalgamates a universal teenage disinterest in traditional values with more specifically
Native issue of the precarious nature of the oral tradition (357). This generational border is finally
crossed when the mother s fight is shown on TV. In that shifting moment, Laetitia is finally able to

the borders over and over again and considers moving back to the

administration of lethal drugs by someone other than the person concerned with the explicit
intention of ending a patient s life, at the latter s explicit request (Quaghebeur, de Casterle,

An unprecedented number of people in the United States today live well into their late adult years.
Improved medical and public health practices, increasing life expectancies, and the graying of the

The Holistic Approach Of Education
The conceptual map, figure: 2.2 provides the summary of this discretion in a schematic form.
The Holistic Approach in Education Holistic education stands clear that learners, need a wide range
of skills to transform their lives, and that of others around them. Certainly educating children is not
a matter of flooding the market needs and fulfillment. According to Singh (2007), in the progressive
changing world, learners need the capability to deal with the indeterminable future. In point of fact,
a conventional wisdom pinpoints that a holistic education approach tackles all aspects of human
challenges (p. 107) in life. Then, he went on to ask, whether an education, support learners to create
capability, a useful key factor for the reconstruction of any country. The education system, scarcely
provides learners for instance, with skills for commendable eating habit. That, in turn leads to the
other question, of how often the education offers learners with the knowledge of avoiding the
consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or drug that may ruin their health (Singh, 2007). A few
aforementioned examples represent a segment of problems among others that children face daily,
but not offered in their learning process. Schools should not create receivers of fresh ideas, as a
substitute, instead support learners to ask questions in their learning process. Singh (2007)

Essay On Konark Sun Temple
What is the most iconic religious monument in India?
In the small city of Konark, rests one of the most unique and iconic religious monuments of India
the Konark Sun Temple. Built during the 13th century under the rule of Narasimhadeva I, this
imposing Hindu shrine is an amazing example of ancient Kalinga architecture and engineering.
Architecture and symbolism behind a giant chariot
Khondalite rock was used to erect the temple. The structural scheme pays homage to Surya the
Hindu Sun god whose figurative representation consists of a chariot pulled by seven horses. There
are 12 pairs of three meter diameter wheels carved on the bottom lateral sides of the audience hall
structure (Jaga mohan), while the dance hall structure in front (Nata mandir) faces East to receive
sunrise s first rays of light. The wheels are particularly interesting: each one exhibits impressively
intricate carvings that can reveal the exact hour of the day down to the minute. These giant wheels
are high precision sundials.

Critical Analysis and Evaluation of 1984, by George Orwell.
George Orwell 1984 The New American Library Copyright 1961 George Orwell George Orwell,
whose real name was Eric Blair, was born in Bengal, India, in 1903. When he was eight years
old, as it was customary, his mother brought him back to England to be educated. He was sent to
a boarding school on the south coast, a school whose students were sons of the upper class. He
was allowed in with lower tuition and not being from a wealthy background, he was subject to
snobbery of the others at the school. In 1917 he went to Eton on a scholarship and he enjoyed

daily Two Minute Hates. In this period of time, work ceased and everyone gathered around a

they make love, which Winston believes is a severe thoughtcrime. He felt that sexual
relationships accompanying love would result in a loyalty between individuals that is contrary to
the desires of the Party. They then rent an apartment and take comfort that O Brien, a vigorous,

Once O Brien had enough evidence to convict Winston and Julia, the two were arrested in their

Savages of the Road Essay examples
The quote above by Benjamin Franklin illustrates that everyone has a different opinion when it
comes to manners. P. M. Forni defines manners in an interesting way in his article, What is
Civility . In this article, Forni states A manner is a way something is done, a mode of handling.
Thus manners came to refer to behavior in social interaction the way we handle the encounter
between Self and Other (Forni 543). Most people get taught manners from a very young age but
for some reason people do not apply these manners to the road. When I received my license at the
age of sixteen I was so excited to get on the road and start driving. I was so ready to be independent
and go where ever I wanted to. But I had no idea how rude my fellow... Show more content on

Why not be verbally abusive on the road? Who will ever know? Strangers have no reputations,
and less guilt (Kinosian 550). Forni makes a good point. This woman did not know me
personally and we will probably never see each other again, so why not act a little crazy? There
are many actions drivers take that show a neglect for manners besides the one told in my story.
Some drivers pull out in front of you and act like they did nothing wrong. This drives me insane!
It takes a lot to slow down and not hit someone when they pull out in front of you. It is not your job
to watch traffic off to the side; they should be paying attention and be considerate enough to wait
until it is clear and then pull out onto the road. Drivers also forget their manners at night. I hate
when I am driving along and then suddenly I am blinded by high beams headed in the opposite
direction. This tells me that the driver is not paying attention to what they are doing behind the
wheel which causes great concern. It also disables me from being able to see the road in front of
me which means their negligence could cause me to hurt myself. Tom and Ray Magliozzi from

Purchase Decision Essay
The purchase situation I will be discussing is related to the most important meal of the day:
breakfast. To be more specific, I will be discussing the various factors that led me to purchase an
Egg McMuffin meal for breakfast before a busy Saturday. Ever since I was a young boy, I had
always been encouraged to start my day off the right way with a healthy breakfast. This mainly
consisted of my father preparing me a bowl of delicious fresh fruit in addition to cereal and milk.
Other days I would enjoy a more classic breakfast, including eggs, bacon and toast. In addition,
there were mornings where I would crave a sweet breakfast, to which I would then eat waffles, or
pancakes with syrup. The bevy of food choices and the variety of options... Show more content on

This also relates to my emotions and needs, as an individual that I need to fulfill to not only be
healthy, but also to satisfy my personal goal of having a good meal to start the day. Through
experiencing my emotions in my actual state, as well as having motives in place in the desired
state, I m able to identify a problem at hand and begin to take action to solve the problem.
The next stage in the purchase decision process is the information search process. This stage
consists of a pre purchase search, while leveraging internal and external information to narrow
down a choice. Internally I was able to remind myself of memories and past experiences I ve had
with breakfast meals. Primarily I focus on the past few meals I ve had, and what I ve liked
about those meals. Additionally I reference my associative nodes which created a few quick
alternatives for breakfast: make it at home, McDonalds, Byte 75, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Cora s,
or even Angie s. Since it was a Saturday in which there are no classes, I was able to include a
broader depth of options that could require more travel time. This internal information helps me
narrow down alternatives for the next stage. In relation to external information, I tried to gather as
much feedback to understand what the best purchase decision would be for me at that given time. I

Phonology Of Grammar And Syntax
Grammar and syntax are in common because with syntax you are also using grammar. Knowing
the parts of speech in grammar goes hand and hand with syntax. The parts of speech are: Nouns
(person, place, thing, or idea), Verbs (action or being), Prepositions (time, place, or position),
Adjectives (describes nouns and pronouns), Adverbs (describes verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs),
Conjunctions (join words, phrases, or sentences), Interjections (express emotion or are fillers in
sentences), and Pronouns (take the place of nouns) are very important in both syntax and grammar
(Lunsford, 2013, pp.294 302). In the tree diagram, there are also functional categories and syntactic
categories that are both grammar and syntax related.
Phonetics and Phonology Analysis Phonetics is the study of speech sounds and everything can be
measured in phonetics. The science of phonetics attempts to describe all of the sounds used in all
languages (Fromkin, 2014, p.192). Articulatory, acoustic, and auditory are all part of speech
sounds. Articulatory phonetics is the way that sounds of language are produced through the vocal
tract. Acoustic phonetics is how sound waves of the sounds that we make, and auditory phonetics
is the sound waves that are received when we hear sounds. Orthography is the way that words are
spelled and not necessarily how they are pronounced. In orthography, there can be many words
spelled different, but the sounds may sound the same. The sound of these letters can all

Becoming A Successful Baseball Player
Playing baseball and soccer has been something that is ordinary. There is no nervousness or anxiety
about playing, because I have been playing my whole life. There is something that comes with this.
Some say that you must be born with it, but I believe that it is developed. That something is
confidence. I am confident in almost everything that I do. When I step onto the baseballdiamond,
there is a certain attitude that goes with it. To be successful in baseball, you must be confident. You
must think that you are better than the other player that you are facing. The entire team must exude
a feeling that you are more prepared and better equipped to win. In the summer of 2016, my

Zara is an international retailer that is continuously growing in popularity due to the store s trend

successes in that they have dominated the global market. Their unique business model and
marketing tactics have a lot to do with this company s worldwide success. This retailer exhibits a

Their method is to have a limited amount of merchandise within the stores and replenish with new
styles and trends quickly so that nothing is sitting on the floor for too long, therefore having a
speedy product life cycle. Shoppers always have new products to choose from and that keeps the
sales in stores flowing.
Zara s vertically integrated supply chain management has had a great advantage on this retailer s
sales. The risk that other retailers take with trying to predict fashion trends a year in advance is
eliminated for Zara. Due to the store s rapid restocks of new designs every two weeks, customers
are introduced to the latest fashion trends. This is a trait that puts Zara above its competitors
such as H M and Gap. Zara possesses a very wide ranging merchandise assortment sold in stores
but produce a low quantity of garments so if an item does not sell as well as they had hoped, they
wont lose as much revenue as there is not as much stock to be discounted. This also allows Zara to
react quickly and analyze a fast response should the market change rapidly.
Beginning with basic fabric dyeing, nearly all of Zara s garments form in a design and
manufacturing center in La Coruna, with most of the sewing done by seamstresses from 400 local
co operatives. Designers collaborate with store managers regularly to determine which items are in

The Epidemic Of London. Johnson
In the TGM, Johnson includes scientific evidence and tangents to enrich the story of the cholera
epidemic on London. Johnson tries to get a bird s eye view of seeing how cholera spread through
London. In that way Johnson tries to get the reader to not only see individual stories of people who
contracted cholerabut to produce information on how it came about, what it is, and give as much
background and insight to get the readerto see information they usually wouldn t. Johnson also uses
these scientific tangents to show modern era readers that based on what happened in London it
forever affects us today. Johnson gives information on what happens and then he goes on a tangent
explaining how essential the specific information plays a role in the development of London. He
tries to bring the information of what happened two centuries ago to relate to modern readers. It
was essential that Johnson gave extra information because it helped to further develop the story.
Adding in these details answers the readers questions and gives an explanation on why something
took place while reassuring the reader by giving factual research. It doesn t take away from the
story nor distract the reader from the central idea of the story. It adds more information to benefit
the story as a whole by enriching the reading by giving factual evidence.
Johnson uses this technique to give readers a broad view of what he introduces in the story at the
time. Johnson shows this by saying, Waste

The Theme Of Water In Hamlet By William Shakespeare
Water, in it s most simple form, is an element with multiple states and properties that make it
essential or life. These properties and propensities for change also allow water to be an element full
of uncertainty and shrouded in enigmas. In large quantities, water creates the deep mysteries of the
sea, fast flowing rivers, murky ponds, and many natural phenomenons. In the play Hamlet,
Shakespeare uses the motif of water to symbolize madness and the unknownin the characters
Hamlet and Ophelia.
Shakespeare presents water imagery relating to Hamlet s character in the very first act of the play,
both explicitly and implicitly. The atmosphere of the platform, before the appearance of the ghost, is
quiet and calm, almost too calm in the way that the world is before a heavy rainstorm, an
example of Shakespeare s use of implied and explicit examples of loud auditory water imagery,
suggesting that Hamlet s madness was spurred by a cacophony of voices and opinions that gave
conflicting judgements on how he should act. The mood of the guard s platform and the use of
erie, mysterious imagery to paint the picture of something ominous coming foreshadows Hamlet s
eventual descent into the murky depths of the sea of madness. In the lines : Without more motive,
into every brain that looks so many fathoms to the sea and hears it roar beneath. (I, iv, 77 81), the
roar of the sea is compared to the unanswered questions that encourage insanity, encountered by all
even without a push from a

tale about the lives of three brothers that take refuge in the woods for survival against the Nazis.
In the beginning, their main goal was to keep alive by also avenging the deaths of their parents,
however as the movie progresses, their mission turns into something far more bigger. They began
to find other Jews who come hoping to join them in their quest for survival, while looking to them

I enjoyed the fact that the setting of the story is different unlike other movies. Instead of it being
fixated on the lives of the Jews living in concentration camps or the ghettos, there setting takes
place outside in the forest where they have to take on even more problems and adapt themselves
to nature s environment. The Jews had to start from the bottom, but eventually they created an
efficient and resilient community. They were forced to build shelters out of material such as
wood and tree stems found in the forest. The refugees organized leadership roles by the various
skills of the Jews. Most were skilled craftsmen, artisans, and laborers, but soon became fighters and
soldiers, gun cleaners, and shoemakers. Women were deemed the task of preparing the meals, and
keeping up with the children. They also had the impossible task of having to find weapons and
ammunition to survive.
Along with their environmental situations, the Jews were faced with the problem of lack of food.
With their group continuously growing, they turned to stealing food from other farmers in the area.
This was a good plan at first, however they had to take the chance that the farmers would tell the
Germans about their encounters. At some point, food was so scarce that people became tumultuous
towards one another. You could see how humans reacted when put under these unthinkable
situations. Men started to become greedy, and thought of themselves as having

website performance is that it s very crucial to look at its connection speed that the user is

to entirely clarify how the user has an influence on how good a website does but there are also a
few other reasons that users sometimes can t actually help and simply have to put up with which
will all be described in due course. The four key user side impacts on website performance as

Bandwidth is the quantity of data traffic which can be downloaded from a website per second.
The data traffic works like any usual traffic, if they are lots of vehicles on the road, it will take you

alike e.g. if they are lots of people transferring from a website all at the same time the download
speed will be much slower. Yet, if you are the only user that is copying from a website your
computer s speed would be much faster because you will be able to utilize most of the data
available to download.

Art And Symbolism In Ancient Egyptian Art
In ancient Egypt the art was both uniquely stylized and symbolic. As the way that hieroglyphs
were a visual language, the art of human figure ancient Egypt followed specific rules in order to
be read, understood, and symbolic. Artists were not concerned with creating realistic images but
rather to represent an ideal and harmonious version of reality. Artists developed conventions a
harmonious canon of proportions, controlling the angle of view, and the size of each part in
relation to the whole. The human figure was presented in composite perspective. For royal and
other depictions of beings of a higher power, heads were shown in profile, capturing the shape of

During 17 years of reigning, 1353 1336 BCE, he broke the conventions of Egyptian art by
showing himself in warm family scenes with his wife and children, and portraying himself and the
rest of the royal family in a much more human and naturalistic manner, such as eyes being slightly
more profiled than any of his predecessors had. There was also a push of physical distortion. It
was all distinctively stylized. The portrayal of the physical characteristics of the pharaoh himself
was the most peculiar result of Akhenaten art reform. In sculptures and paintings of Akhenaten,
he is shown as having a long, slender neck, a long face with a sharp chin, almond shaped eyes,
full lips, long arms and fingers, rounded thighs, a soft belly, and enlarged breasts. His odd
androgynous appearance, depicted in the colossal statue of Akhenaten raising to about 16 feet,
carved out of sandstone, was particularly prominent in art from the early part of the reign. His
appearance was the challenge of Egyptian art style and the test of his relationship to the gods.
Also another important piece to come out of this time was the head of Nefertiti, the favorite queen,
made of painted limestone. The beautiful Nefertari was discovered in 1912 in the studio of the
sculptor Thutmose. The facial features of her are too idealistic to be human, with a thin slender
neck, but strangely come so close to what moderns day society ideal of beauty

not entirely accurate given the fact that New England was actually more technologically

Tourism to these places was billed as giving you something that modern life could not. This

Discuss The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Division Of Labor
For supporting trade as well as economic interdependence, division of labor creates opportunities for
individual cooperations to cooperate and improve manufacturing and individual labor productivity.
While the corporations can maximize their benefits through surplus value owing to selling product,
the workers have opportunities to get job more easily as well as professional working enviroment
by using modern technology, however, exploitation, effecting workers health and uninspiring job
significantly influence on the workers and even laborproductivity. It can be argued that the benefits,
workers get from division of labor, is not considerable.
According to Adam Smith (1976), there are three main advantages of the division of labor. Firstly,

working time as well as increasing labor productivity. Beside that, in order to concentrate on
renovated product including structure and system, the factory will recruit and retain highly
qualified and skilled employees to maintain the top of industrial position ((Liu Shang, 2012). For
the workers, the firms carry out new invested trategy, which supply them with long term
employment security, stable salary expectations and better welfare in order to achieve their long
term development goals (Liu Shang, 2012). However, they have to do the same work day by day,
gradually, they are lost interest and enthusiastic in their work.
To coordinate with the machine technology investment, advanced corporate employers will invest a
lot in skills traning for workers. Substantial investments in turn exhance employers ability to
improve human resources management policies to guarantee the long term contractual relationship
between workers does not mean a reduction in their ptofits but is a premise for capital to earn
profits. Under such conditions, technological workersm as an important way for value added, are
favourably treated by capital in some extent, and become the core labor group.

Pat Tillman Characteristics
Loyalty, determination, and selflessness are all characteristics of Pat Tillman. In the next few
minutes you will learn about Pat Tillman and how he lived his life being loyal determined and
selfless. For example he never gave up when he was drafted in the 7th round everyone expected
him to maybe be a special teams player but he started the first game. That s just one of many great
things about Pat Tillman.
Pat Tillman showed loyalty. A few ways he showed loyalty is after his last high school game he
was asked by a reporter about how well he played Tillman said I didn t play particularly well. The
team played great. I think he is loyal because lots of players would have taken the spotlight and he
choose to say that i m not the only guy on the field my team won the game. When he went to the
NFL the Cardinals drafted him to begin with after his rookie contract was about up the Rams
offered him a big contract but he turned it down because the Cardinals were the only team that
believed in him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Medicare Bill
The Medicare bill was signed into law on July 30, 1965 by President Johnson. The signage came
long after an attempt by President Truman to develop a national insurance fund that could be
utilized by all Americans. During the signing of the bill, President Johnson explained that with the
Medicare program an individual can insure themselves against illness that may present during their
senior years. Additionally, he commented that there were more than 18 million low income
Americans who are greater than 65 years of age and cannot afford to treat their illnesses. The
Medicare program is overseen by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS), and has
evolved over time. Medicare now covers individuals under the age of 65 who... Show more content

The goal of this deception is to obtain a federal healthcare payment that would not otherwise exist.
The provider, practice, or institution may falsely claim to have provided a service or used
supplies for a patient when in reality neither the service nor the supplies were used. A secondary
way to commit Medicare fraud involves referrals. If one solicits, pays, or accepts money to
encourage referrals because the services are reimbursed by Federal healthcare programs, they are
participating in Medicare fraud. This type of fraud is addressed in the Anti Kickback Statute.
Lastly, Medicare fraud occurs when the complexity of services are overstated and billed at a
higher than necessary rate. This action violates the False Claims Act which protects the government
from being excessively charged for goods and services.
Medicare fraud is illegal and remedies are sought at both a civil and criminal level. If a provider,
practice, or institution is found guilty of Medicare fraud, the consequences may include a loss of
license, monetary penalties, and the inability to participate in Federal healthcare programs. The
Office of Inspector General (OIG), which is a part of the U.S. Department of Health Human
Services, has the ability to exclude individuals who participate in Medicare fraud. The guilty party
will be listed on a searchable database on the OIG website. The list is officially referred to as the

Character Changes In Macbeth
The general argument made by Shakespeare in Macbeth is everything has consequences.
More specifically, Shakespeare argues that Macbeth, the character, has many character changes.
These changes were mainly by force from others and the ambition from himself. Macbeth goes
from being known for his honor and bravery to being known as a devious, brutal killer.
Throughout Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, the main character Macbeth faces many major changes.
Macbeth showed how evil he was compared to the way he was viewed in the beginning
Initial Character
In the beginning of Macbeth, Macbeth was known for honor and bravery. According to
McGuinness (2015), Duncan bestows new titles on his brave warrior, Macbeth, meaning that the

At the beginning of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is seen as a kind wife of Macbeth but under the
kindness is a scheming and treacherous woman. When Lady Macbeth reads a letter from Macbeth,
she dreams of becoming queen. She basically is the control of Macbeth, she quietly, sneakingly
controls him. Macbeth is quite ambitious at first and Lady Macbeth sees that, she far exceeds this.
Lady Macbeth convinces Macbeth to do whatever it takes to become royalty. She then is able to
get Macbeth to agree with her to kill King Duncan.
In act II of Macbeth, King Duncan is murdered by Macbeth. Snider (1986) argued that,
Macbeth has begun to hear the language of bad magic, of murder, specifically one great act of
murder, regicide, the killing of the king, in Shakespeare that cataclysmic act, that crime against the
state, against the soul and against the self. All of this convincing for royalty leads Macbeth in
becoming ok with the thought of murder. The murder of the king had a lot to do with Lady
Macbeth. She planed and organizes the murder in act I of the play to become queen.
Character Change
In the beginning of Macbeth, it was clear that Macbeth hated the thought of murder

Who Is Meursault s Irony In Albert Camus The Outsider
Albert Camus novel The Stranger follows the life of M. Meursault, a sales clerk in 1940 s Algiers,
from the death of his mother to his execution. Meursault, throughout the novel, embodies Camus s
absurdist philosophies: he disregards emotion, speaks his mind, and seems apathetic about his life.
Meursault s apathy is unusual, and thus, according to the incongruity theory of humor, is funny for
most readers. As the theory states, however, Meursault s apathy is only funny to the reader that
does not expect it, and thus the humor in the book only applies to a sect of the readers. Yet the
themes of rejection and hopelessness in the book appeal to all readers and diminish the humor in
the novel. Camus essay The Myth of Sisyphus furthers the idea... Show more content on

While waiting for his trial, a chaplain shoves a cross in Meursault s face and asks Do you know
what this is? (68) Meursault asserts his atheism and thus rejects religion. The humor in this scene
stems both from Meursault s character and the chaplain s conviction to convert Meursault. First,
Meursault is easily distracted and his comments are unexpected, and, following the incongruity
theory, are funny. While the chaplain is yelling at Meursault, Meursault says [it was] hard to
follow [the chaplain s] reasoning because it was hot and big flies kept landing on my face. (68)
Second, the chaplain is determined to reveal Meursault s [belief] in God ; thus, Meursault s
continual rejection of the God, according to the relief theory, is funny (69). The crucifix, in the
scene, symbolizes more than christianity: it represents the afterlife and the search for a higher
being, values that are deeply ingrained in society. Thus, Meursault s rejection of the crucifix, which
aligns well with Camus absurdism, serves as a shunning of hope for a better life in the moment and
an afterlife. In his essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, Camus exemplifies his point from The Stranger by
saying that the whole being is exerted toward accomplishing nothing. (1) The hopelessness and
meaningless nature that both The Myth of Sisyphus and The Stranger identify cannot, and does
not, make for comic or even humorous material; the big philosophical questions

The Importance Of Bilingualism
Speaking another language is like being a part of a secret club that only people who can speak
your language have a membership to. When you run into a person who speaks the same
language as you in public, you get excited and converse with them because you have found
another member of the club. To people who are non bilingual, bilingualism may be used to
classify those who do not belong in your country. To English language learners, bilingualism is
one s identity and their connection with their culture. The different opinions on bilingualism
have created conflict and struggles for non native speakers. Espada describes bilingualism in
The New Bathroom Policy at English High School as something that defines one s identity and
history. He expresses it as dual language speakers being able to use the tongue of their history
and identity (19). With the increasing attempts to get rid of non native speakers, English language
learners should fight to preserve their identities. Espada argues, The repression of Spanish is part
of a larger attempt to silence Latinos, and, like the crazy uncle at the family dinner table yelling
about independence or socialism, we must refuse to be silenced (297). Espada argues that
bilingual people have the responsibility to protect their culture by going against the repression of
their language. In order to prevent the silencing of a language, bilingualists must band together.
Going out in public and hearing a foreign language, people subconsciously assume the foreigners
are speaking about them. Native speakers become self conscious and filled with fear. Espada
believes non bilingual people s attempts to silence English language learners result from the fear of
not understanding a foreign language. A staff member at Lynn English High School stated, In a
spasm of paranoia, many Anglos assume that the only reason Latinos speak Spanish in their
presence is to say diabolical things about those same Anglos (Espada 121). The inability to
understand the Latino s language results in the assumption that they re badmouthing Anglos.
Espada points out that bilingualism generates toxicity because English only speakers feel bilingual
people are talking behind their back. Espada views

The Prenatal Care Model
Prenatal care is the preventative measure used by healthcare professionals to assess the health and
wellbeing of a mother and her unborn child. It consists of various blood and urine tests,
examination of the health history of the mother and her family, ultrasounds and other exams (
Prenatal Care Fact Sheet , 2012). This care gives healthcare professionals the opportunity to
examine the fetus for any adverse complications that may have arisen, and address any issues that
may have occurred within the mother. Prenatal care visits also allow time for women to ask any
questions that they may need to address about their pregnancy. It is vital that expectant mothers
receive adequate prenatal care early in their pregnancy because the earlier that... Show more content

University of California San Francisco Medical Center has been proven to provide expecting
mothers with satisfaction about their pregnancy and their care. In a survey conducted by Liu,
Chao, Jostad Laswell and Duncan, it was found that over 90% of the women who participated in
the study were primarily Latina immigrants and reported that they were satisfied with their care

United States and in areas where there is a prominent African Americanpopulation. The program
helped women feel as if their needs and concerns are being met. It also allows for discussion and
social support, factors that could better benefit the experience of African American

  • 2. Ray Bradbury s The Martian Chronicles Bradbury: Hopeful or Hopeless People choose to see the best aspects in things and but some tend to see the worst. In The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury, the plot is represented as optimistic, but also pessimistic. Bradbury is portrayed his ideas as a pessimistic because he brought the idea of that man is parasitic and ruins the environment wherever he goes, he presents the transition of the Martian culture with the Earthling s, and reveals the destruction of Earth as the atomic war broke out. Starting off, the idea of that man is parasitic and that he ruins the environment wherever he goes to is brought up on Earth and Mars. • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Separation Of Power In America When the colonists first arrived to the New World there were very few obligations and rules that the British government had set for them and they were on their own to live their life in the way they saw fit. Throughout the years, England realized how much of an asset the New World was to their economy. Due to the American colonies great advantages to their economy and their everyday lives, Great Britain became greedy and decided that only they should be able to exploit from the colonies. This greed prompted the Crown to implement new taxes and regulations in order to obtain a larger profit. After many attempts to work with Great Britain and being dismissed, the colonist declared independence from England. This caused the Revolutionary War and in 1783 the colonists were finally free from Great Britain. The colonists drew from the positive and negative experiences from the Crown s rule when writing their own country s government. The crown s supreme rule over all aspects of the colonists life compelled the colonists to incorporate a limited government into the Constitution. Because of the lack of representation that the colonists possessed during during colonial times, when making the constitution they secured the idea of popular sovereignty as an effort to make sure that all citizens could have an opinion in their ruling. Separation of power was implemented into the Constitution for the purpose of denying one person excessive power. Checks and balances fall under ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Influence Of John Dewey In American Schools Many people have been critical about the American education system throughout the county s history. John Dewey was an extremely influential thinker on the topic of education during the 20th Century. He argued that education should be made up of social and interactive processes, and the school itself is a social place, where social reform can and should take place. He believed that students do well in an environment where there are experiences and interaction with the curriculum. He also believed that every student should have the opportunity to take part in their own learning. His views can be seen in our own educationsystem today. With the vast opportunities, boundless electives, and the curriculum, schools today are preparing students for John Dewey s vision which influences students to become educated citizens.... • 5. Risks And Challenges Of Indian Construction Industry RISKS AND CHALLENGES IN INDIAN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY Risk in Construction needless to mention, with huge money, comes the company of big risks. In the area of Indian construction, the risks are abundant, due to the involvement of legal, political, financial and cultural complexities. As far as construction in India is concerned, there is lack of experience, but the opportunities for growth for companies willing to enter the arena are immense. The domestic construction industry is growing at a rapid pace, due to high demand for housing and increase in expenditure on infrastructure. All of the most challenging projects across country involve a variety of complex processes working simultaneously. Every critical activity is associated with a risk and can negatively affect the project objectives, such as time and schedule, cost and quality of work. The number of risks arising from a task is directly proportional to the number of people working on it. Mismanagement is one of the various sources of risk. These days, most of the big projects are sublet to sub contractors, and therefore risk assessment and mitigation has become more and more challenging. (McKinsey Company, 2009) (Sharmila Pimplikar, n.d.) As a developing country, India has not focused on risk management. Construction projects in India face various types of risks such as business risks, financial risks, technology risk, project risk and political risk. • 6. Peasants And Serfs Peasants were members of the lowest class, those who work. They were the most common class. They were the millers, blacksmiths, butchers, carpenters, farmers, and other trades people. Peasant women in particular, spent much of their time taking care of children, making clothes, and cooking meals. They also tended gardens, took care of animals by tending chicken, shearing sheep, and milking cows (Cels 16). Within peasants, there were two main groups of people, the serfs and the freemen. Both were employed by the lords. And serfs were people that paid more fees, and had less rights. Freemen on the other hand paid less fees and had more rights than serfs (Noiret). • 7. The Role Of Immigrants In Animal Crackers And Annie Hall The role of the immigrant as an American cultural figure cannot be understated, and the cultural values associated with immigrant versus non immigrant Jews in particular are primarily class values. However, even once assimilated and wealthy, upper class Jews face a difficult situational dichotomy: Whether to join the high minded literati (a category that Jews helped shape in America) or the more vulgar entrepreneurial class. The anxieties associated with Jewish history complicate this choice, and its consequences are echoed in many films, including Animal Crackersand Annie Hall. Perhaps the dichotomy between the high minded wealthy Jew and the vulgar wealthy Jew can be most clearly seen by looking at Jack and Harry Warner. As profiled in Gabler s Between the Old Life and the New, Harry Warner was a devoted family man, lived a quiet life... a stern moralist who would eventually assume the role of moral adjudicator to his entire family. He was also a more observant Jew, and less religiously assimilated. Jack, meanwhile, was a veteran provocateur who incited everyone, regarded as a frustrated comedian who liked nothing better than telling very bad jokes in a loud voice, and seemed to enjoy creating embarrassment. He also repeatedly refused any religious instruction. In some sense, Jack could be seen as assimilated while Harry could be seen as defiantly Jewish. But it would be just as easy to paint the opposite picture: Despite their religious differences, Harry put effort into coming across as a member of high society, while Jack intentionally resisted and even opposed those norms. Harry would often have to apologize for Jack, claiming he didn t have the advantages of such a good education. Here, we see the beginning of the high minded/vulgar dichotomy that would continue to separate wealthy Jews for the next century. The Marx BrothersAnimal Crackers shows that this trope was already recognized in the culture, and plays with the trope intentionally. When we first see Groucho Marx, he is playing the role of Captain Spaulding, a rich adventurer returned from Africa. It s never quite clear, in the film, to what extent Groucho is pretending to be Spaulding, and to what extent he actually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I got back to class my teacher gave me a very weird look and didn t say a word. I kept asking, What I can t touch the ground. She didn t say a single word. Just a few days later within the month of May, it was a cool warm night. Where everything was perfect on how it was. No wind, a solid 78 degrees, all by a bonfire around 11 at night. We were sitting there talking and out of nowhere I just got up and decided to walk across the fire for no reason. Everyone looked at me very weirdly. All I asked was, What? • 11. Competitive Forces Analysis Of Amazon Competitive Forces Analysis. Amazon, Google, and Apple each have competitive advantages in various markets; however, one specific market proved difficult for Amazon to cultivate a competitive advantage. Shaping competition, the five forces, known as threats of new entrants, power of suppliers, power of buyers, threats of substitutes, and existing rivalry, determine industry profitability and influence the ability to gain competitive advantage (Rothaermel, 2017). Notably, failing to understand the forces can results in negative gains. Within the U.S. technology industry, the smartphone market has strong competitive forces, yet profit potential. In particular, the smartphone market has established firms, such as Google and Apple, each with large market shares, which lessens profitability potential for new entrants. Nevertheless, Amazon, pursuing a differentiation strategy, attempted to develop and market the Fire smartphone in 2014 to diversify business activities (Rothaemel McKay, 2015). One force Amazon encountered was the presence of entry barriers. Established firms, Google and Apple, had proven brand recognition, economies of scale, and loyal consumer base in the smartphone industry, and an entering firm, such as Amazon, faced risk. From Amazon s view, entering into the smartphone market required significant capital investment, with unpredictable effects, to develop a differentiated, price competitive product. The pre school stage, according to theories of neuropsychological development, is excellent for introducing new concepts in a second language to the child. The child s brain is like a sponge. Since 50 percent of the ability to learn is developed in the first years of life, and another 30 percent by age eight, early childhood development programs have the opportunity to encourage early learning and development. During the first six months of life, babies babble using 70 sounds that make up all the languages in the world. The babies will learn to talk using only the sounds and words that they hear from their environment, principally from their parents and caregivers. A baby s brain will then discard the ability to speak in languages he or she does not hear (Kotulak, 1996). During this period and especially the first three years of life, the foundations for thinking, language, vision, attitudes, aptitudes, and other characteristics are laid down, says Ronald Kotulak, author of Inside the Brain. That s one of the reasons why is better to learn the second language when you are young. The impulses of the second language must be constant since the children learn faster, but also they forget ... This is a predominant attribute surrounding a government, as without it, no wrong can be solved or ailment corrected. The American Suffrage movement is an impeccable example of political change being a necessity in order to grant women suffrage. Due to the availability and mercurial nature of a constitutional democratic republic, even massive alterations such as granting suffrage to a group of citizens is possible. • 17. What Is The Theme Of Borders By Thomas King All the Borders Crossed in Thomas King s Borders Thomas King s short story Borders narrates the conflict occurring in North America, in which a Native American mom and her son become involved when she tries to cross the borders between Canada and U.S to visit her daughter Laetitia, but she denies to claim other citizenship than Blackfoot. Although the only border explicitly crossed is the geographical border separating both countries, the title s plurality suggests there is more than one single border present in the story. A further analysis to the comments about the Blackfoot community, the differences between Laetitia and her mother, and the ways of identification requested by the guards, suggests that they are three more other borders... She attempts to pass their values down to her children by narrating them their myths, as her son describes, she d tell them slow, repeating parts as she went, as if she expected me to remember each one. (144), but he does not pay attention and think about food instead. Due to being from different generations, the two siblings, do not share the same sense of belonging to the Blackfoot that the mother has, and therefore they lack the effort towards understanding her. Laetitia is especially reluctant towards the Blackfoot tradition, which can be appreciated in the dialogue: You can still see the mountain from here, my mother told Laetitia in Blackfoot. Lots of mountains in Salt Lake, Laetitia told her in English. (135) Laetitia does not embrace her Blackfoot identity, as she is not willing to speak in Blackfoot and eventually ends up moving to the U.S. As Gruber argues, King s depiction of the scenario amalgamates a universal teenage disinterest in traditional values with more specifically Native issue of the precarious nature of the oral tradition (357). This generational border is finally crossed when the mother s fight is shown on TV. In that shifting moment, Laetitia is finally able to understand her mother and to appreciate her Blackfoot heritage, as she wants to hear the story of the borders over and over again and considers moving back to the ... It is defined as the administration of lethal drugs by someone other than the person concerned with the explicit intention of ending a patient s life, at the latter s explicit request (Quaghebeur, de Casterle, Gastmans, 2009). An unprecedented number of people in the United States today live well into their late adult years. Improved medical and public health practices, increasing life expectancies, and the graying of the baby boom generation have all contributed to this phenomenon (Moulton, Hill, Burdette, 2006). The Holistic Approach in Education Holistic education stands clear that learners, need a wide range of skills to transform their lives, and that of others around them. Certainly educating children is not a matter of flooding the market needs and fulfillment. According to Singh (2007), in the progressive changing world, learners need the capability to deal with the indeterminable future. In point of fact, a conventional wisdom pinpoints that a holistic education approach tackles all aspects of human challenges (p. 107) in life. Then, he went on to ask, whether an education, support learners to create capability, a useful key factor for the reconstruction of any country. The education system, scarcely provides learners for instance, with skills for commendable eating habit. That, in turn leads to the other question, of how often the education offers learners with the knowledge of avoiding the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or drug that may ruin their health (Singh, 2007). A few aforementioned examples represent a segment of problems among others that children face daily, but not offered in their learning process. Schools should not create receivers of fresh ideas, as a substitute, instead support learners to ask questions in their learning process. Thus manners came to refer to behavior in social interaction the way we handle the encounter between Self and Other (Forni 543). Most people get taught manners from a very young age but for some reason people do not apply these manners to the road. There are many actions drivers take that show a neglect for manners besides the one told in my story. Some drivers pull out in front of you and act like they did nothing wrong. This drives me insane! It takes a lot to slow down and not hit someone when they pull out in front of you. The parts of speech are: Nouns (person, place, thing, or idea), Verbs (action or being), Prepositions (time, place, or position), Adjectives (describes nouns and pronouns), Adverbs (describes verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs), Conjunctions (join words, phrases, or sentences), Interjections (express emotion or are fillers in sentences), and Pronouns (take the place of nouns) are very important in both syntax and grammar (Lunsford, 2013, pp.294 302). In the tree diagram, there are also functional categories and syntactic categories that are both grammar and syntax related. Phonetics and Phonology Analysis Phonetics is the study of speech sounds and everything can be measured in phonetics. The science of phonetics attempts to describe all of the sounds used in all languages (Fromkin, 2014, p.192). Articulatory, acoustic, and auditory are all part of speech sounds. Articulatory phonetics is the way that sounds of language are produced through the vocal tract. • 29. The Theme Of Water In Hamlet By William Shakespeare Water, in it s most simple form, is an element with multiple states and properties that make it essential or life. These properties and propensities for change also allow water to be an element full of uncertainty and shrouded in enigmas. In large quantities, water creates the deep mysteries of the sea, fast flowing rivers, murky ponds, and many natural phenomenons. In the play Hamlet, Shakespeare uses the motif of water to symbolize madness and the unknownin the characters Hamlet and Ophelia. Shakespeare presents water imagery relating to Hamlet s character in the very first act of the play, both explicitly and implicitly. The atmosphere of the platform, before the appearance of the ghost, is quiet and calm, almost too calm in the way that the world is before a heavy rainstorm, an example of Shakespeare s use of implied and explicit examples of loud auditory water imagery, suggesting that Hamlet s madness was spurred by a cacophony of voices and opinions that gave conflicting judgements on how he should act. The mood of the guard s platform and the use of erie, mysterious imagery to paint the picture of something ominous coming foreshadows Hamlet s eventual descent into the murky depths of the sea of madness. In the lines : Without more motive, into every brain that looks so many fathoms to the sea and hears it roar beneath. There was also a push of physical distortion. It was all distinctively stylized. The portrayal of the physical characteristics of the pharaoh himself was the most peculiar result of Akhenaten art reform. In sculptures and paintings of Akhenaten, he is shown as having a long, slender neck, a long face with a sharp chin, almond shaped eyes, full lips, long arms and fingers, rounded thighs, a soft belly, and enlarged breasts. His odd androgynous appearance, depicted in the colossal statue of Akhenaten raising to about 16 feet, carved out of sandstone, was particularly prominent in art from the early part of the reign. His appearance was the challenge of Egyptian art style and the test of his relationship to the gods. Also another important piece to come out of this time was the head of Nefertiti, the favorite queen, made of painted limestone. The beautiful Nefertari was discovered in 1912 in the studio of the sculptor Thutmose. The facial features of her are too idealistic to be human, with a thin slender neck, but strangely come so close to what moderns day society ideal of beauty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For many it offered a nostalgic look at what America used to be. However, this view is not entirely accurate given the fact that New England was actually more technologically advanced and industrial than most of the rest of the country. Still, a new view of an Olde New England had been invented, and thousands of people traveled to small towns and farms to see it. Tourism to these places was billed as giving you something that modern life could not. This tourist industry would go even further, to building roads for bikes (and eventually cars), and with resorts springing up along railroad lines. Overall, it led to a boost in the economy, especially in northern New England. It can be said that the rise of industry led to the decline of old New England, but there was also rise of tourism in the late nineteenth century that has helped sustain New England to this ... • 43. Who Is Meursault s Irony In Albert Camus The Outsider Albert Camus novel The Stranger follows the life of M. Meursault, a sales clerk in 1940 s Algiers, from the death of his mother to his execution. Meursault, throughout the novel, embodies Camus s absurdist philosophies: he disregards emotion, speaks his mind, and seems apathetic about his life. Meursault s apathy is unusual, and thus, according to the incongruity theory of humor, is funny for most readers. As the theory states, however, Meursault s apathy is only funny to the reader that does not expect it, and thus the humor in the book only applies to a sect of the readers. Yet the themes of rejection and hopelessness in the book appeal to all readers and diminish the humor in the novel. Camus essay The Myth of Sisyphus furthers the idea... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While waiting for his trial, a chaplain shoves a cross in Meursault s face and asks Do you know what this is? (68) Meursault asserts his atheism and thus rejects religion. The humor in this scene stems both from Meursault s character and the chaplain s conviction to convert Meursault. First, Meursault is easily distracted and his comments are unexpected, and, following the incongruity theory, are funny. While the chaplain is yelling at Meursault, Meursault says [it was] hard to follow [the chaplain s] reasoning because it was hot and big flies kept landing on my face. (68) Second, the chaplain is determined to reveal Meursault s [belief] in God ; thus, Meursault s continual rejection of the God, according to the relief theory, is funny (69). The crucifix, in the scene, symbolizes more than christianity: it represents the afterlife and the search for a higher being, values that are deeply ingrained in society. Thus, Meursault s rejection of the crucifix, which aligns well with Camus absurdism, serves as a shunning of hope for a better life in the moment and an afterlife. In his essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, Camus exemplifies his point from The Stranger by saying that the whole being is exerted toward accomplishing nothing. (1) The hopelessness and meaningless nature that both The Myth of Sisyphus and The Stranger identify cannot, and does not, make for comic or even humorous material; the big philosophical questions ... • 44. The Importance Of Bilingualism Speaking another language is like being a part of a secret club that only people who can speak your language have a membership to. When you run into a person who speaks the same language as you in public, you get excited and converse with them because you have found another member of the club. To people who are non bilingual, bilingualism may be used to classify those who do not belong in your country. To English language learners, bilingualism is one s identity and their connection with their culture. The different opinions on bilingualism have created conflict and struggles for non native speakers. Espada describes bilingualism in The New Bathroom Policy at English High School as something that defines one s identity and history. He expresses it as dual language speakers being able to use the tongue of their history and identity (19). With the increasing attempts to get rid of non native speakers, English language learners should fight to preserve their identities. Espada argues, The repression of Spanish is part of a larger attempt to silence Latinos, and, like the crazy uncle at the family dinner table yelling about independence or socialism, we must refuse to be silenced (297). Espada argues that bilingual people have the responsibility to protect their culture by going against the repression of their language. In order to prevent the silencing of a language, bilingualists must band together. Going out in public and hearing a foreign language, people subconsciously assume the foreigners are speaking about them. Native speakers become self conscious and filled with fear. Espada believes non bilingual people s attempts to silence English language learners result from the fear of not understanding a foreign language. A staff member at Lynn English High School stated, In a spasm of paranoia, many Anglos assume that the only reason Latinos speak Spanish in their presence is to say diabolical things about those same Anglos (Espada 121). The inability to understand the Latino s language results in the assumption that they re badmouthing Anglos. Espada points out that bilingualism generates toxicity because English only speakers feel bilingual people are talking behind their back. Espada views ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
