Blended (Hybrid) Learning refers to a combination of Online and Lecture-based Instructional Learning. In this exercise, a Blended Learning Pilot Project was conducted. The Auditory Pathway was selected for the exercise, in view of its relative complexity.
A video link was given to the students as a Pre-learning assignment. Next day in class, a series of Pre-lecture questions were asked before the start of the lecture. This was to test how much the students had learnt BEFORE the class.
After the lecture, a series of Post-lecture questions were asked.
Finally, after the whole exercise, students' feedback was obtained using the Clicker-based Audience Response System (ARS). The feedback was eye-opening indeed!
Learning Outcomes
After watching this Slideshow, the viewer should:
Know what is Blended (Hybrid) Learning
Be able to conduct a Blended Learning exercise of their own
Know something about the Auditory Pathway itself (though this is not a primary objective of this exercise)
Know how an Audience Response System works (at least partly!)
Have an idea as to how the students’ mind functions
2. Blended Learning – What is it?
•This is a mandatory Blended (Hybrid)
Learning exercise.
•Blended (Hybrid) Learning refers to a
combination of Online and Lecture-based

8. Blended Learning – Pre-lecture
Questions
• In the next three slides, the students’ response
to three Pre-lecture questions were recorded
using the Audience Response System
• This was done to determine how useful was
the Pre-lecture assignment and exercise
