A women’s lifestyle magazine for 16-24 year olds!

Not to be missed…
WHO IS THE
CLIENT?
The Northern Eco

I have been commissioned to produce a new magazine,
newspaper supplement or handout for the Northern eco.
It can be any style or genre but It must be selffinanced through its sales and/or advertisements. It
must also be aimed at a specific target audience.

Limitati
ons
• Local models and advertising –
keep the local businesses going.
• No inappropriate imagery
• No strain that could effect it
financially
Meeting the Brief!
In order to meet the brief that I have been
given I have done the following:
•

Made sure my magazine is of high quality
which is expected by Northern Eco readers.
To make this happen I employed high
quality journalists and staff to make sure
my product could be the best that it could
be.

•

I made sure my magazine was suitable for
the ABC1 audience which is the same as the
Northern Eco and therefore it will fit
suitably in everyway.

•

The genre ‘women's lifestyle’ will be
aimed at ABC1 audiences. This will also be
aimed at young people in the age group of
16-24.

•

I chose this genre of magazine as I feel
as though it is commercially viable and
also fits perfectly within the brief I
have been given.

•

I made sure my magazine is self financed
through sales and advertising.
Why Women’s Lifestyle?
•

My chosen tribe is trendies
as I feel as though there
interests will be included
in my magazine the most.

•

Age 16-24

•

Female gender audience

•
•

ABC1 socioeconomic status
Educational status =
Collage graduates and
University graduates.

•

Stereotypical socioeconomic
status’.

•

Due to being students, low
income if fairly common in
my target audience.

•

Magazine prices between
£1.50 and £5
Tailoring to my Audience…
Eye
catching
fonts

Stylistics
that are fun
and fairly
youthful

High image
to text
ratio
Mild taboo
language.

Reasonable
pricing of the
magazine
Use young, pretty
models to create a
window for future self.

Use a chatty, formal
tone but not to make
it to serious.

Include practical
content

Similar techniques
from other magazines
that are popular
with my T.A
Things to
consider…

1

I will record all interviews to ensure I have utmost accuracy
in anything I am writing.

2
3

I will seek permission from parent/guardians to photograph
any minors to protect them against intrusion into their
lives.
Any photography featured in my magazine will be taken
by myself to avoid any copy write accusations.

Any material I wish to publish about an individual I
will present to each personnel involved to ensure they
accept and agree with anything I have reported.
