2. During our planning progress we sued many different technologies such
as Blogger to document our progress. Blogger enabled me
to track what people had said they had wanted to
see in my music video. It also allowed me to plan schedules and keep
creative ideas.
Websites
I used many different websites during my planning process. Such as
www.unsigned.com to find the song of my choice.
I then had to convert the song to Itunes by using the website
www.youtube-mp3.org. I also used www.hotmail.com to send an email
to Amanda Lucas asking permission to use the song. We also did some
research on our artist by looking on her youtube account
(https://www.youtube.com/user/amandalucasmusic ),her myspace
http://www.myspace.com/amandalucasmusic and her joint website
http://www.bridge19.com/ . This all involved our artist research part
3. As part of my audience research I had to create a survey
monkey, which asked questions about genre, age group, but
also gave the audience a chance to tell me what they wanted to
see in my music video. I published the survey on facebook and
Twitter so it would receive a wide range of critique.
I also looked on YouTube at successful
videos that could inspire me.
A crucial part of my planning was
watching channel 4s top 100 music
vidoes, this gave me many different
creative ideas
4. Planning
I used the software finalcut express to
edit the focus groups, animatics and
practise shoots we did. Final Cut allows
you to upload, cut and edit footage.
5. ๏ฝ We arranged our group into different roles.
๏ฝ Naima singer- distraught actress
๏ฝ Me- Camera man and male actor/boyfriend
๏ฝ Jenna- Camera girl
๏ฝ We then made a schedule of when and where
we wanted to film after brainstorming and
visiting possible locations.
6. After planning the video we began to construct it. We used HD
Digital Video Cameras to film the project. We also used tripods to
make sure we had a good sue of steady shots. To take still images
for our digi pak we used HD still digital cameras. Once we had
taken the footage we would upload it to the Apple Mac and upload
it to Final Cut express where we could cut, edit, layer and
sometimes lighten up the footage. We also downloaded the song
onto Naimaโs iPod so that she could play the song whilst we filmed
to ensure the lip synching was correct.
7. To create my magazine advert and digipak I had to use still
cameras to take the images or in some cases just had to
printscreen from final cut express. I then had to edit them, to do
this I used either photoshop or www.picnik.com. On these
websites I learned new and different skills which involved
brightening the image and adding different effects to create a
more interesting and professional look, there was different types
of etxts and shapes available as well. I also researched text
websites and searched for images of barcodes and copyright
information. I also used Microsoft PowerPoint to cerate the
magazine advert as additional information eg. Release date and
product availability was needed.
8. Whilst creating my Magazine Advert Music Video and Digipak I have
learnt new skills.
Photo Shop is a highly difficult programme to use and I have
learned how to alter colouring and also add effect.
I have also greatly improved my skills on Final Cut Express by
layering different clips, brightening them, changing the pace, and
also adding music and fitting clips to the correct part of the song.
New Technologies used in the process.
Prezzi- which enabled me to create interesting powerpoints
Slideshare- which allowed me to upload powerpoints to my blogger
Wordle- which illustrated my audience feedback
PicNik- used to edit photographs
PhotoShop- Used to edit photgraphs.
