1. GEORGIA-SAKARTVELO!
By Boroslache Silvia-Gabriela
The expertise exchange during April 18 – 22, 2011
in Georgia, in the cities Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi was
interesting, useful, with good goals.
A new country, new scenery, new people, new
friends. From my point of view, not only the country
was interesting, but also our activities and our
entertainment, the history, the places we visited,
everything. I can say that I was impressed of our activities in the expertise exchange.
The most admirable thing is that the Ministry of Education is very much involved in the
education of youth, supporting them in everything they do, creating them new opportunities for a
better life. As far as I understand, there is also a downside to that, which is the youth is not as
open to such meetings with the Ministry, but not all young people are like that. Organizations
such as World Vision, Save the Children, Children’s Federation of Georgia are to be admired
because they fight hard for the youth. For example, during the meeting with Save the Children, I
was very impressed with Mrs. Tamta, who was talking to us with so much love about her
projects; you could see that she was proud of the young people involved in the project. Also, the
schools have interesting activities and projects in progress, which can inspire us also.
Another opportunity which single young people or families have is expertise exchanges, with our
country, as well as with other countries, such as: Poland, Moldova, Italy and others. I am glad
that there are very well planned “home groups” for children in orphanages, which, unfortunately
do not exist in Romania.
I also had something to learn from the short training presented by Nelly about advocacy. I would
be interested to attend a full training; I think I would understand much better.
As for the country, I can say that it is a beautiful country, with an impressive history. The places
I have visited, for example: Rustaveli Avenue with Radisson Blu Hotel of Tbilisi, the Art Museum
and Botanical Garden of Batumi, Kutaisi and Mtskheta have left pleasant memories which I will
treasure.
2. The people are very nice, especially our hosts Rusudan and Khatuna, who were very helpful!
Our boys, Alex and Marius were delighted with the girls, but I too was enchanted by the beauty
and especially the talent of Georgian boys.
And so, with all the photos and memories gathered in my heart, I was glad to have had this
expertise exchange and I hope to teach my group as much as I was taught in Georgia.
MADLOBA for the wonderful moments!
