Georgia advocacy exchange of experience dev camp 1

  1. 1. YOUTH CIVIC EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION PROJECT implemented by World Vision Georgia and Romania, funded by UNDP Georgia through ODA funds allocated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and World Vision Austria.
  2. 2. <ul><li>When?: October 2010 – July 2011 </li></ul><ul><li>Purpose: </li></ul><ul><li>To promote responsible citizenship and community participation for youth in Georgia and Romania and to provide youth in both countries with an understanding of a democratic society and the principles of civic participation and advocacy. </li></ul><ul><li>Objectives: </li></ul><ul><li>1) to enhance civic education and community development, 2) to incorporate advocacy methodologies into youth groups and 3) to connect youth to the Global Youth Network in both Georgia and Romania. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>International Advocacy Exchange program to Georgia </li></ul><ul><li>Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, 18-22 April, 2011 </li></ul><ul><li>Purpose: share experience in how youth engage in projects and advocacy initiatives in Romania and Georgia; </li></ul><ul><li>Participants: 3 youngsters (16-18 years old) from Cumpana&Corbu(rural areas from Constanta) who won the essay competition; </li></ul>

  7. 12. Day 2, Batumi – Visit to Art Museum

  10. 17. Day 3, Kutaisi – Public school
  11. 20. Day 3, Kutaisi – Public defenders House – share experience
  12. 22. Day 3, Kutaisi (still) – Debate exercise
  13. 23. Day 4 – Tbilisi – heavily raining … 
