Supply of oil decreased = production decreased = employment decreased = decreased in wealth
Solution: Agricultural land convert to growing bio fuel producing crops = decrease in food supply = increase in price = decrease in wealth

Fighting creates / increase instability in a country and can only lead to further decrease in wealth. This is the cycle in development trap that can lead to poverty.

God's given man 6,000 years to run the world his own way & he's made a helluva mess out of it. There has hardly been a day in history where there hasn't been a war going on somewhere, people fighting, killing, maiming, wounding, injuring & selfish & starving & disease-ridden. Men has made one Hell on Earth of what was once a Heaven on Earth.

Socialism is an intellectual virus. The climate policies that the socialists have fought for through the dictatorship dominated UN has already created a catastrophe that might be far worse than their doomsday prophecy of the imminent catastrophic global warming, ever will become, and that their irresponsible biofuel policies is meant to solve. They where warned about the consequences that would follow, that the prices would rise, that the undernourished of the world would become more undernourished, and that the hungry would become hungrier. But they never listen to criticism. They supress it, just to be able to think well of themselves. And already they and their intellectually corrupt politicians, and UN officials are bullshitting the world about it. Always blaming 'Capitalism', 'speculators', 'multinational corporations'...

And their argument is always the irresponsible deliberations of the utopians: What if the wealth of the world had already been a distributet more fairly? What if the world's 200 wealthiest people had not had as much money as about 40%... What if the world had already been more like a communist paradise? What if the west had already been more vegetarian, what if the world had already been more humanist, what if the world had been organize in another way. What if, what if, what if?! The problem is always greed, egoism, the others, capitalism, the US, big business... Never their own policies. Never the intellectually dishonest existentialist egotistism that is what actually motivates them, their religious need to have something to believe in in their existence, something to struggle for that gives them the feelgood feeling of meaning and their own personal and brutally inconsiderate metaphysical meaning that they actually 'struggle' for.

It never occur to them that their 'what if's was something they should have thought about before they embarked on their intellectually dishonest 'political' - i.e. their egotistic existentialist - and ethically irresponsible missions to 'save the world'! It never occur to them that their own biased assessments, and one-sided discernment, and hostility towards any dissenter, is what necessarily makes it impossible for them to make responsible ethical deliberations - before they embark upon their 'struggle' to 'save the planet', that is the irresponsible and unthought-through policies that they recommend, always assuming their own goodness and correctness.

Communist regimes in the 20th century commited 148 million murders, in adition to all of the people that was killed in the wars they fought, and as uintended consequences of their failed policies. This according to the conservative estimates of the social scientist R. J. Rummel. But the socialist never learn. Like in theocracies they alway presupposes their own correctness. Whats wrong with them is that the truth is something that they never have wanted more than beeing able to feel good about themselves, and to feel that their life has some deeper meaning and spirituality

Because 'Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm -- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.'

    — T. S. Eliot, The Cocktail Party

Socialism not, but ECO-SOCIALISM. Certainly we have better solutions for the world food crisis and other Capitalist Crisis, because our solution should have a humanist and organized way of life with ecological priority. First each country should have to define your better socialism model (as Marx said, in the Manifest). We don´t need more imported models. We are inteligent enough to find our proper solution. Basically its need to be a Democratic and Libertarian Socialism with a strong and popular participation. But, returning to the problem its necessary emergency measures In that food case. Its urgently to remove the all food products of Chicago Stocks Market because there are great quantity of 'hot speculative' money carried from subprime crisis markets to food markets. Second, we have to make rules to prohibit the use of the food products to make fuel because it´s idiocry. The fuel problem we solve by the side of the consumption using alternative energies, a low fuel motors and a public transportations, not on the supply side. Third we need a major cooperation betwen the nations to define a moratory in the debts and a minimun price of food to find a equilibrium point to assure a regular gains to the farmers with a regular suply. Fourth we need a complete land reform to permits the litle organic production farms next to the consumers reducing transport and storage costs. All the solutions are linked to ambiental problem because the world climate changes to generate dificulties to food production. Is urgently a new edition to the World Social Forum to give more answers to a food problem and to analyze a Socialist alternative. We tired of the miraculous solutions decided in the dark rooms of the Global economic elite as Davos Forum. Workers of all nations unite... cause the our only home the Earth (Water) planet is under attack.

the problem is greed - and a paradigm that relies on fear in order to control and dominate - we the people perpetuate it - the divide and conquer rule enables it and all have given way to corporations - colonization morphed into globalisation by corporates via government corruption and now we see the end results - people are held in contempt, governments dictate wages, and everything is done in a way that negates ones humanity - the highest thing in $ not human lives - this is the mark of the beast and its way of operating is to keep people fighting amongst themselves rather than uniting together

its time to unite against this and join together, pull our labor pull our energy away from serving the corporation

socialism is dead and capitalism will die its natural death - in fact, it has already started. We need to find new economy theory. PROUT (http://prout.org/) can go a long way in that direction.

The Global Food Crisis - Presentation Transcript

  1. The global food crisis "The world's 200 wealthiest people have as much money as about 40% of the global population, and yet 850 million people have to go to bed hungry every night."
  2. Rising food prices have sparked violent protests around the world. Five people were killed and hundreds injured during recent riots in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti.
  3.
  4. Food riots in 2008
    • Egypt Thousands of demonstrators in Mahalla el-Kobra loot shops and throw bricks at police during protests at rising food prices and low salaries, as part of nationwide strike
    • Haiti At least four people killed in the southern city of Les Cayes after food prices rise 50 per cent in the past year
    • Côte d’Ivoire Police injure more than ten protesters as several hundred demonstrators demand government action to curb food prices
    • Cameroon Riots last four days and result in at least 40 deaths. Unrest is due to high fuel and food prices. Worst riots in country for 15 years
    • Mozambique At least four people killed and 100 injured following fuel price rises
    • Senegal Violent demonstrations in Dakar as prices of rice, milk and oil soar. Senegal imports almost all its food
    • Yemen Five days of rioting and a hundred arrests after the price of wheat doubled over two months. Protesters set up roadblocks in Sana’a and Aden
    • ...and in Mauritania, Bolivia, Indonesia, Mexico, India, Burkina Faso, and Uzbekistan
    • - New Statesman, April 17, 2008
  5. Unrest in Haiti: A UN peacekeeper from Nigeria was shot dead in Port-au-Price during the recent riots. Around 9,000 peacekeepers and civilian police have been stationed in the country since former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ousted in an armed rebellion in 2004.
  6.
  7. Food prices in Haiti are reported to have risen by 50 to 100 per cent in the last year, hitting the vast majority of the population -- who live on less than $2 a day -- particularly hard.
  8. Food as proportion of household budget
    • While Australian households spend only 17% of their budget on food, Nigerian families spend 73% of their budgets to eat, Vietnamese 65%, Indonesians half. - NY Times
    • In Bangladesh, food consumes more than half most people’s earnings and rent takes up almost all the rest. - UK Guardian
  9. Haiti food riot, April 2008
  10. Haiti food riot, April 2008
  11. Pakistani women buy subsidized flour in Lahore. The price of staple foods and fuel has risen drastically in the country in the last few months. Many people in Pakistan are now dependent on state subsidies.
  12. In Manila, the capital of the Philippines, soldiers stand guard during the sale of government rice. With the price of rice soaring, the government is looking at ways to ensure none of its citizens starve.
  13. Bangladesh: Food queues have become longer as prices have gone up. Fights over food frequently break out in the queues.
    • US President George W Bush has ordered the release of $200 million in emergency aid to alleviate food shortages in Africa and other parts of the world… but just a month ago the US threw $200 billion to bail out failing US banks.
    • The International Monetary Fund estimates that corn ethanol production in the United States accounted for at least half the rise in world corn demand in each of the past three years. This elevated corn prices. Feed prices rose. So did prices of other crops — mainly soybeans — as farmers switched their fields to corn.
  14.
  15. Filipinos wearing rice sacks protest on a street in Manila, the Philippines, April 16, 2008. The protestors are calling for stronger measures from the National Food Authority to increase the proportion of home-produced rice in its food reserve.
  16.
  17.
  18.
  19. Protest over rising food prices in Indonesia.
  20. Haiti food riot, April 2008
  21. "The world's 200 wealthiest people have as much money as about 40% of the global population, and yet 850 million people have to go to bed hungry every night."
  22. ‘ a massacre of the world’s poor’
    • Hugo Chavez , Venezuela’s socialist president:
    • “ The problem is not the production of food … it is the economic, social and political model of the world. The capitalist model is in crisis.”
  23. Indonesia: Poor and workers call for Venezuela-style nationalisation of oil multinationals to feed , educate and house the people – Berdikari April 29, 2008
