A Figure of speech is a figurative language in the form of single word or phrase. It can be a special repetition,
arrangement or omission of words with literal meaning.

To learn figure of speech, teacher creates a readiness among pl. by asking
some questions.
 Have you heard about simile?
 Do you know the difference between simile and metaphor?

Today we are going to learn about a new concept called figure of speech
 Figure of speech
When the meaning of the words have a “deep ” meaning which is
different from the surface meaning.

A simile is a direct comparison that always contains the words “as”
or “like”

Alliteration is the repetition of consonant sound at the beginning of

Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds. Either at the beginning

Learner notes down the definitions
