2. About Us
Establishment:- In1836 this college was established and known as "ROBERTSON COLLEGE". In 1947 its name was changed
into "MAHAKOSHAL COLLEGE".
• Development:- In 1962 the college was bifurcated and the Arts college was named "GOVT. MAHAKOSHAL ARTS "
COLLEGE" In 1983 Commerce stream was also started and the name was again changed to -
• "GOVT. MAHAKOSHAL ARTS & COMMERCE COLLEGE".
• Inception of Autonomy:- The college is affiliated to Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya under University Grants Commission.
It was granted Autonomous status in 1992. According to 1998 guidelines autonomous scheme is effective here.
• After the visit of the Peer Team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Banglore,the college was awarded B++
Grade by them.Affiliated to Rani Durgavati University Jabalpur
• Graded B++ By NACC
