In this presentation I explain what a trainer needs to do to prepare for equipment or technology malfunction or disappearance. It was developed as part of core unit TAEDEL401A in the Australian VET course, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

• Most technical/equipment problems can be
resolved with little disruption if the trainer has
arrived at the venue early.
• Backup, backup, backup –the triple backup
system is your parachute!

• Prepare for internet failure: take screen shots
of web pages, save videos and audio files onto
USB.
• Don’t panic! Use technology/equipment
failure as an opportunity to build rapport
within learning group and – collaborate and
find a solution!
