These are slides from a humorous/informative speech I wrote for a recent Toastmasters meeting. I've modified the presentation since then so that it can stand on its own.

There's a HUGE difference between slides you present with and slides designed to be consumed on their own in a place like slideshare. You should not design a deck to do both. Instead, you ought to create two decks, one for each purpose. Actually, that's exactly what I did for this presentation, I just haven't post the presenter-dependent slides here for exactly the reason you stated.

Imagine posting a powerpoint preso full of images on something like Slideshare. How useful would such a presentation be to the reader without any context? The question becomes: do we always need a powerpoint? Or... Perhaps just a single slide with contact information will do! :) 1 year ago
