Editor's Notes
HOE IS DIT IN UW LAND?
Most recently updated in 2000, the guidelines provide a broad set of CSR standards, more then labour and environmental issues alone. They also contain provisions on combating bribery, transparency and fair competition. The Human Rights provisions in the guidelines are best reflected in the labour rights chapter, which is based on the fundamental ILO conventions of freedom of association, no discrimination, no child labour and no forced labour. For the non-labour rights the guidelines refers to international legal and policy frameworks as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to be respected in the direct ‘sphere of influence’ of the company*. Although in principle applicable, a more company tailored specification of the non-labour rights may be considered in the next round of revision (2010).
