  • 4. GRADUATION IS A SPECIAL DAY • Seniors must attend all practices. • Cap and gown will be required at event. • This is a formal event, so clothing must fit the occasion. • Behavior must fit the occasion also. – No balloons, air horns, beach balls, bubbles, etc.

  • 8. IS YOUR STUDENT ELIGIBLE TO GO TO A FOUR YEAR UNIVERSITY IN CA? Have they completed the A – G requirements with grades of C or better?  Have they taken the required tests (SAT and/or ACT)? ALL CLASSES MUST BE PASSED WITH AN A, B, OR C FOR COLLEGE ELIGIBILITY! A. History --2 years required B. English -- 4 years required C. Mathematics-- 3 years required 4 recommended D. Laboratory Science--2years required 3 recommended E. Foreign Language--2 years required 3 recommended F. Visual/Performing Arts--1 year required G. College Prep Elective--1 year required

SAT/ACT Testing Student should have already taken the SAT and/or ACT at least once by now. If applying to UCs you should have already taken the SAT Subject Tests. Some impacted campuses require testing to be completed by November. VENTURA COMMUNITY COLLEGE  If you are planning on attending VC, we will take you to the college and help you get registered in May.  IMPORTANT: You CANNOT transfer to a UC or CSU without completing 60 transferable units. This generally means TWO YEARS (or MORE) of community college before you can transfer to a public school in California.
  • 12. PRIVATE COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY *If you are planning on attending a private college/university, YOU need to find all info on your own. See your counselor for help! *Does the school use the common application, dates, letters of recommendation (and from who)? Application requirements are different for each school.

ONLINE COLLEGE APPLICATION WORKSHOPS During Fall Break: • Visit colleges and universities if you have not done so already. • Create application log-ons and complete as much of the online application as you can. • November- workshops covering: – UC applications – CSU applications – Common Application Trouble Shooting TIME: 2:00 -3:00pm PLACE: Media Center Sign up today if you haven’t already!! PLEASE NOTE: Requests for Letters of Recommendation are due to your counselor at least TWO WEEKS before the college or university application deadline!!!
  • 14. SENIORITIS Don’t let THIS happen to you!  Continue to take rigorous classes. (It is YOUR responsibility to let colleges know if you change your schedule at the semester.)  Don’t let your grades slip.  Colleges have revoked admissions based on poor academic performance 2nd semester.
