  6. 6.  12 WEEKS Progress Reports A.Students Grades are Accumulative B.Final grades go on transcripts (end of December) 5 more weeks C.If your child has a D or F on this progress report, it is time to do the following: -email or call the teacher - arrange for your child to stay after school for help in the Homework Center -Sign-up for School Loop 6

  9. 9. Grade Experience 9th Freshman Team Cohort, College Visit 10th AVID (9-12) 11th 1+ IB Class 12th 1+ IB Class 9 Students not at grade level will take English, Algebra Supports. ELD and Special Ed services always available
  10. 10.  9th Learn good study habits, including organization and time management. Take college prep/AS classes. Aim for A’s and B’s, earning C’s at minimum. Freshman year counts!  10th Aim for A’s and B’s, earning C’s or better. Continue to take CP and AS classes. Grades calculated in CSU/UC GPA. Take the PLAN test in October. Offered here at Cap.  11th Take PSAT in the Fall. Offered here at Cap Take SAT/ACT in the Spring. Enroll in one or more IB class. Continue to aim for A’s and B’s.  12th Continue to take SAT/ACT’s if needed. December is the last date. Take challenging classes and keep your grades up. You can’t afford to get Senioritis! Apply for Universities in the Fall, Community College in the Spring Complete Financial Aid application in January/February Complete Intent to Register form by March (CSU/UC or Private) Complete Community College Application (CC) 10

  12. 12.  It’s never too early to begin researching college and the entrance requirements  Monitor your child’s study habits and use of free time  Encourage your child to participate in school activities, clubs, and sports  Consistently communicate with your child’s teachers and counselors  Participate in PTO, LPO, Music, Drama, Sports Boosters, Cap IB Boosters, SSC 12
