    • PhotosynthesisHow do living things get energy from the Sun?
    • How do living things get energy from the Sun? STOP HERE and Brainstorm! Things to consider How do humans get energy? What do all organisms need to survive? What form of energy comes from the Sun? How do cells obtain energy? Why are plants so important?
    • What is photosynthesis? The process that plants use to make their own food (in the form of glucose) In plant cells, organelles called chloroplasts contain chlorophyll Chlorophyll makes photosynthesis possible
    • The chlorophyll absorbs sunlight.
    • The sunlight is combinedwith water, and carbon dioxide.
    • The chlorophyll processes the ingredients andmakes glucose and oxygen. This process iscalled photosynthesis.
    • Write a WORD equation for the photosynthesis reaction.
    • Plants and animals need eachother to survive.
    • Animals including humans make theCO2 (carbon dioxide) plants need.Plant use light energy to make the O2(oxygen) and C6H12O6 (glucose) weneed.Use the information above to write a chemicalequation showing the photosynthesis reaction

    • We all know that plants grow?A single seedling can grow to a massive treeWhere does the mass in the tree come from?Send your teacher an email with your answer.
