Overview
THE STORY YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW...
When Kyle Calloway died, he took a part of Nell with him. She wasn’t the only one
left to pick up the pieces, however; Kyle’s death left a gaping hole in the hearts
and lives of his parents and his older brother Colton, and ultimately broke the will
of the girl he loved.
2. THE STORY YOU NEVER IMAGINED...
Becca de Rosa is Nell’s best friend. When Kyle died, Nell was so devastated that no
one could reach her, not even her best friend Becca. As she tries to help Nell
through her grief, Becca’s own life is thrust into turmoil, and everything she knows
is changed.
Jason Dorsey asked Nell out the week after her sixteenth birthday, but that date
never happened. Instead, he ended up going out with Nell’s best friend, Becca. He
had no way of knowing, then, how that one date would send him on a life-long
journey with Becca. He had no way of knowing the tragedies and triumphs he
would experience, or that in Becca, he might find the love of a lifetime.
THE HEARTACHE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET...
Reviews
Accomplished author Jasinda Wilder, I am once again in awe. Falling Into Us was
magnificent.
Jasinda Wilder is one of those uniquely talented authors who fills her novels with
relevant, thought-provoking and heart wrenching plot; resulting in captivating
reading and a completely riveting story. Every time.
One boy, Kyle Calloway, died, far too young. As is always the case, death and grief
is experienced differently for each person it meets. Falling Into Us focused on the
altered life path of Jason Dorsey, Kyle's best friend, and Becca de Rosa, the
beautiful, intelligent and quiet counterpart to bubbly, popular Nell. One of the
saddest parts to this story, was being once again confronted with the agonising,
self-destructive path Nell traveled, and the impact that had on those who loved
her.
3. Jason Dorsey, was one of those characters who grabs your heart from the first
chapter and never lets go.
He should have been cocky, but he wasn't. Any hint of self-love had been beaten
out of him; he wasn't a party boy, not the stereotypical football player who
squandered drink and women. No, this boy was broken. This boy was talented.
Driven, almost morosely so. Could it be possible that the gorgeous girl, who had
somehow hidden her vivacity behind her reserved facade, could be his loudest
supporter, his lifelong soulmate?
Becca:
"I think I wrote poetry because its a way for me to be coherent. Eloquent. I have
to work to speak clearly. Every single sentence I speak takes effort not to stutter.
Poetry? It's just Effortless."
Becca had style. She was clever, passionate and raw. I loved her. Her faithful,
gentle heart, was to endure difficult heartaches in Falling Into Us, and given the
number of years the story thankfully encompassed, you will watch her grow,
mature and thrive. She needed to break free from the oppressive parental
shackles that held her captive, in more ways than one. She needed to identify
what defined her, and what did not.
Showing incredible sensitivity, Wilder walked the reader through some
heartbreaking years, touching on difficult topics; adding humor for levity when
needed and sweet and sexy lovemaking for sensory delight.
I loved the awkwardness between sixteen year old Kyle and Jason. Just perfect.
So real. The poems. MAGIC! They expressed so much. So touching, poignant and
ingeniously placed. The scene in Circle Bar had me instantly crying. Reading
through Kyle's death and Nell's heartache again just ripped me apart. Such is the
strength of Jasinda Wilder's writing.
Written in first person, present tense with shifting POV, with a fabulous 522 pages
in length, the book was so satisfying. I felt that the whole story was told. This was
an excellent parallel novel to Falling Into You, and a book I will recommend to
many.
4. Grab your tissues, close yourself off from the world, and brace yourself for this
impressive and emotional journey, told with thoughtful insight, clever prose and
scintillating love scenes.
Thank you Jasinda Wilder for the privilege of reading this ARC in exchange for an
honest review. No compensation was received for this review.
Jasinda had me at Falling Into You. I loved Nell’s story, she went through so much
at such a young age and it didn’t come easy but we as the reader saw her grow
and find her way. We grieved with her, we cheered her on, we felt her emotions
because the book was written so well. I was sad to have the story end, but then I
was so excited to find out there would be another book!! Falling Into Us, yes it
wouldn’t be Nell’s story but we would get to hear about her during Becca and
Jason’s story and that was enough to make me pumped to read this book! Just
like Falling Into You, Falling Into Us had me hooked! I loved Becca, she had a
challenged teenage life. She was shy dealt with stuttering and had strict parents
who made sure she had no life outside of her studies, piano lessons and her
speech therapy. Poetry was her outlet.
“Every single sentence I speak takes effort to not stutter. Poetry? It’s just
effortless” -Becca
Jason seemed to have it all. He was a star football player, part of the popular
crowd, looks to die for. But have you ever heard the saying “Don’t judge a book by
it’s cover” Well Jason fell under this category. Behind closed door Jason had a
rough life. Dealing with parents that never treated him right. At 16 years old Jason
had a lot of weight on his shoulders.
Becca was in love with Jason since she was little. But Jason only had eyes for Nell.
“I’d been in love with Jason Dorsey since forever, but he didn’t even know I
existed, except as Nell’s awkward friend.” -Becca
5. Fate worked in Becca’s favor and she ended up going on a date with Jason that
would change her life forever. Even at such a young age they needed each other.
Jasinda made me feel like a teenager again! Jason and Becca were a couple,
driving and listening to music. Finding any excuse to see each other. Making out
and trying to deal with feels they never felt before.
From being 16 years old to becoming an adult you will love reading about all of the
changes, tragedies, and growing Jason and Becca do. And of course hearing about
Nell. Jasinda did a wonderful job and adding Nell’s story into the book without it
taking over Jason and Becca’s story.
I give this book 5 stars and loved every minute of this book!

Wow!!! As much as I loved Falling into You, and believe me I LOVED it, I think
Falling into Us might just be that much better. I loved Kyle, Nell and Colt’s story
so much but Becca and Jason’s story really left me speechless. I feel that it is very
important that you do read Falling into You first. If you don’t there will be too
many spoilers. Falling into Us runs parallel to Falling into You giving us insight to
Kyle and Nell’s best friends, Jason and Becca. Jason and Becca are the ultimate
love story!! Starting out with young love, making all the decisions regarding all of
their “firsts” was just so amazing. I loved watching them grow and experience life
together. They did not have an easy road but they always got through things
together. The strength and commitment to each other they showed at life’s
challenges was so refreshing. I fell in love with them while they fell in love with
each other. Bravo Jasinda, you really out did yourself with this one.
Jasinda Wilder, I bow down to your greatness. What an effing glorious story you
gave us!!
When I picked this book up, I didn't even bother to read the synopsis because I
just knew in my gut that it was going to be fantastic. And I was not wrong. I did
think that it was going to be a continuation of Nell and Colt's story, but I was
pleasantly surprised that Falling Into Us was Jason and Becca's story.
6. Although it was just as emotional as Falling Into You, it was not as heartbreaking.
This book was beautifully romantic, and heartwarming. There were parts that
make you tear up, but for the most part it flowed seamlessly. It's told in
alternating POVs from Jason and Becca.
Now, in the first book you get glimpses of Jason and Becca so when I read this
book and figures out it was about them, I didn't know what was the point. But my
goodness, do they have a spectacular story. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jason and
Becca!! Jasinda wrote such great characters with so many different elements to
their personalities. Jason is just unbelievably amazing. I guarantee you will NOT
find a single flaw in him. He's the perfect book boyfriend. I want one of him,
seriously. And Becca, well she's a complex girl. Still, there's no way you can't not
like her.
I think the best part of this story is how it runs parallel to Nell's timeline and story.
It references Kyle's death and what a toll it took on Jason. It got even better in
the end, when Jason and Becca's story was intertwined with Nell and Colt's. Just
beautiful. I definitely shed a number of happy tears at the foursome's ending.
Phenomenally written, and utterly captivating. Falling Into Us is a book worth
reading!!
My thoughts…
Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I loved this book. At first I was a little worried that
this book wouldn't live up to the first book. Sometimes that happens. The more I
read though, the more I learned that Falling Into Us is just as amazing as book
one.
The story is told from both Jason & Becca's POV. Both are secondary characters in
the first book entitled Falling Into You. I loved getting to know both of them.
7. My heart broke for Jason and the life he was subjected to at the hands of his
father. He seemed like such a great kid in the first part of the book who went on
to grow into a great young man. One who stood by Becca's side throughout the
story and always loved and protected her.
Becca. I really liked her. Her parents were very strict with her. She wasn't allowed
much free time for herself. Everything was centered on her school work and
achieving her academic goals. Her father was very controlling and I really didn't
care for him.
This story is highly emotional. You get to experience what it was like for Becca &
Jason to fall in love, how they had deal with the loss of a beloved friend, and grow
into two amazing young adults.
The sexual scenes started out sweet, gentle and loving. Both Becca & Jason were
under the age of 18 when they first started having sex and I think the scenes
needed to be written the way they were. Later on though…Hot, Hot, Hot. Explicit.
Ripping each others clothes off and going at it again and again. Just what you'd
expect a young couple to do.
Falling Into Us offers a twist within the story. One that I did not so coming and it
totally shocked me, but I understand why it was added. It was an integral part of
the story.
Overall, I can't say enough good things about this two book series. I don't think
Ms Wilder could have ended things any better than the way she did. I'm very
pleased with the outcome and how thing worked out for Becca, Jason as well as
Nell & Colton.
I will definitely be reading this series again in the future. If you haven't given this
one a try you don't know what you're missing. There's a reason book one hit the
NY Times bestsellers list. I have a feeling Falling Into Us will become a bestseller
as well. Again, these books are truly amazing.
8. Well done, Ms Wilder. You've made a fan for life.
I was given an ARC thru my blog in return for an honest review--
Let's be honest- I was LUCKY enough to be the reviewer on my blog because I had
read Falling into you. I was scared when I realized this was a side by side novel
and NOT Colt and Nell's story but her BFF Becca and Kyle's BFF Jason..
I had NO reason to be nervous.. To say this book was amazing is an
understatement. I felt every word, every emotion, every single chapter. I was
sucked in from chapter one.
It starts at the point of Nell ditching Jason's date because Kyle really "liked" her-
we knew that from Book 1.. This goes into him asking Becca out and their budding
relationship. I *almost* loved them more than Kyle and Nell.. But I can't love
anyone more than COLT. ;) BUT Becca and Jason- ARE HAWT. STEAMY. AND I AM
STILL FANNING MYSELF. WOW.
Becca- The unknowingly beautiful smart girl who has loved Jason since they were
in 4th grade will show you a side of her you have no idea exists and Jason Dorsey-
is an amazing man. What he grew up with could have ruined who he was but
instead- it drove him to greatness. That is a lesson for all of us.
You get 8 years of their life.. And THANK YOU JASINDA WILDER for giving me
more Colt and Nell. I needed them. I had to know they were ok and where they
went with their story.
There is parts of this book that absolutely SHREDDED my heart. I cried 3 seperate
times- for 3 seperate situations. And those 3 - HURT. Reliving Kyle's accident hurt
just as bad the second time from a different POV but it also gave you some closure
on "why bad things happen to good people" scenario. Sometimes life has really
really SUCKY terrible situations .. But if those didn't happen - you wouldn't end up
where you are or even who you are.
9. I gave this book 5 HUGE stars. It was LONG but I was not once bored - it left me
completely fulfilled with all the storylines and I was ok to be done with them.
That's a great feeling and honestly RARELY happens.
Thank you Jasinda for yet another A-mazing story that touched my heart and
showed me a honest never ending TRUE love.
