Reward excellence & achievement to gain huge rewards
A certificate of achievement or a certificate of excellence are traditional methods of rewarding people
who stand out from the crowd. Certificates are simple and cheap, but the effect they can have are
profound and the rewards gained will always outweigh the cost and effort of producing them.
We are all human and humans always perform better when praised for high achievement or general
excellence in life, be it at work, school, a sporting club or your own child that you wish to praise and
encourage.
In business, presenting your employees with certificates of appreciation for their efforts gives you the
opportunity for a small (or large!) ceremony where you can show all employees that you do recognize
the effort that they make on a daily basis. Just having management acknowledge an employee as
having made an extra effort will boost the morale of the individual involved, as well as the rest of the
employees, to an extent that will far exceed your expectations.
In a sporting club, your team has just won a match or a series, if you give them recognition in the form
of a certificate that they can frame and hang on their wall with pride, you will probably win that coveted
trophy again next season as well.
Your own eight year old child has tidied their room for a whole week now, is it a miracle? Whatever the
cause, you should reward the effort and praise the child to encourage the new habit so that it will
continue. Praise with words is good, but soon forgotten by a child. Buying them something to reward
them is also good, but, usually, the connection between the object and the fact that it was given as a
reward is soon forgotten by the immature child’s brain. Something that spells out the reward and the
reason for it that they can frame and hang on their wall will not be forgotten, will be an object of pride
and one they will show their friends to impress them.
So, in summary:
Praise is never wasted, whatever your status, manager, coach, school teacher or parent, the praised
person will eventually reward you by improved behavior. Something permanent to which the person
can refer is better than something that is transient such as simple words of praise or a food reward. At
work, at the club or at home, praise for excellence or achievement will always produce results. The
internet is a fantastic resource, use it to your advantage and find downloadable certificates of
achievement or printable certificates of excellence to give to those near you that you wish to
encourage. Always remember, praise is easy and the rewards are great.
