Introduction
I. Carl Richardson complained of chest pains and later died due to
ephedrine use.
II. Ephedrine is found in hundreds of over-the-counter products
which we all use daily.
III. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) should regulate
ephedrine.
IV. We will first discuss the problem with ephedrine and second
look to a clear solution that eliminates this problem.
(Transition: So let’s begin by looking at the problem with
ephedrine)
Body
I. Ephedrine is a dangerous drug that needs to be controlled.
A. There is a lack of regulation of ephedrine.
1. Ephedrine is easily abused.

1. By adopting this plan we protect people who may not
realize the harmful effects of ephedrine.

many of the problems with ephedrine

IV. It may be too late for Carl Richardson but it’s not too late for
the millions of other people who use ephedrine unknowingly, like
you and me.
