1. WHAT IS LIGHT ? ?
LIGHT – is the Natural gas that stimulates
sight and makes thing visible. .
LIGHT- is Electromagnetic radiation visible
to the human eye. .
7. -THE VISIBLE SPECTRUM
The visible
spectrum is the portion
of the electromagnetic
spectrum that
is visible to the human
eye. Electromagnetic
radiation in this range of
wavelengths is
called visible light or
simply light.
11. The visible part of the spectrum may be further
subdivided according to color, with red at the
long wavelength end and violet at the short
wavelength end, as illustrated (schematically) in
the following figure.
The sequence of colors red, orange, yellow,
green, blue, and violet may be remembered by
memorizing the name of that fine fellow "ROY G.
BV". This was originally "ROY G. BIV", because it
used to be common to call the region between
blue and violet "indigo". In modern usage, indigo
is not usually distinguished as a separate color in
the visible spectrum; thus Roy no longer has any
vowels in his last name
12. Color
Wavelength
Red 780 – 622
Orange 622 – 597
Yellow 597 – 577
Green 577 – 492
Blue 492 – 455
Violet 455 - 390
13. The order of colors in light,
arranged from shortest
wavelength to longest, is called
the visible spectrum of light. The
image shows light's visible
spectrum, which runs from violet
to red. You might recognize the
spectrum as the order of colors in
a rainbow.
